Hawkes Boatyard (HBY) is a full service, independent boatyard located in Airlie Beach, Queensland providing; Chandlery supplies and fit-outs to boat owners, antifouling solutions, hull cleaning and topside polishing services, antifouling and propspeed, as well as Industrial Ladder, Trestle and plank hire, Paint Screens with Cradle and Hardstand sites for dry-dock works.
We're currently seeking an experienced Procurement Manager (Chandlery) to join our team full-time.
The Procurement Manager (Chandlery) is responsible for developing procurement contract strategies, establishing commercially viable contracts, and managing supplier relationships, as well as managing stock levels in response to seasonal variations and supply chain variability. The role organizes supply, storage and issuance of chandlery stock.
Main duties and responsibilities include:
- Plan, organize, and control chandlery goods storage.
- Implement stock recording systems.
- Execute procedures to reduce overstocking within budget.
- Ensure accurate stock receipting and issuing procedures.
- Manage suppliers to ensure timely delivery.
- Recommend annual purchasing tactics based on business performance.
- Manage inventory levels to meet demand within budget and space constraints.
- Train staff in OH&S protocols for handling boating materials.
Applicants must have at least 4 years' experience in a similar role in supply management, with sound knowledge and understanding of boating and chandlery.
Additional essential qualities:
- Valid QLD driver's licence.
- Ability to plan and implement policies and procedures.
- Critical thinking skills during negotiations.
- Strong communication skills and coordinating inputs from others.
- Strong, logical problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work to deadlines.
The successful applicant will be offered a remuneration between $70,000 - $80,000.
