About the Role (Your Why)  

Datacom operations are seeking an Operations Centre Engineer whose role is to monitor systems including Windows, UNIX, Database, Cloud and backups in real-time on a 24x7x365 rotational basis and able to troubleshoot/triage/resolve events or escalating to specialist’s teams for resolution. You will receive a standby allowance for when offshift and when called in to cover, all hours are considered overtime. There is a shift allowance of 12.5% on all working hours too so that standard pay is as uniform as possible, regardless of if you are day or night shift.

It is essentially just above an entry-level role, so don't let the title scare you off! We do still need people with IT experience - the role is perfect for those who have done service desk or desktop engineering work - but note that this is still an associate level position. It is seen as a transitionary role and a great stepping stone to get into higher level IT roles, as has happened with many of our staff since the teams' inception 4 years ago. After working in this role, you should be able to handle the business critical tasks and changes while you have time to focus on any certifications you are interested in. You can really showcase your skills ihere and be involved with the technologies that you want to be involved with, initially at a lower level but you can steadily increase your utilisation of other, higher technologies as you grow and develop.

About role:

As a Bid Manager, you will be supporting our sales team and all Bid management activities for Local Government. You will also provide the sales team a range of administrative and coordination tasks so they are able to focus on customers and opportunities

 Key Responsibilities:

• Manage bid responses from initiation to submission
• Prepare response documents including coordinating input from stakeholders and completing non=functional sections of the responses.
• Create, manage and keep current relevant tender response documentation 
• Management of tender panels, tender communication, tender search tools and communication of potential opportunities to the sales business.
• Assist the Sales Director and Sales Team with maintaining Salesforce data.
• Assist the Sales Director and Sales team with pricing
• Continuously evolve the bid process and bid submissions
• Assist with Sales Operations including assistance with pricing, process and the booking of deals.

Desired Skills:

Our ideal applicant has prior experience working in IT Vendor environment and demonstrate personal ownership, accountability and is outcome focused. You have high attention to detail and can build strong relationships across the business.

Familiarity with IT vendor bid, and sales processes is highly regarded.

The Principal Technical Programs Advisor – Propulsion Systems will bring their knowledge, skills and experience from solid rocket motor design, development, facilities, manufacturing and Project Management to bear in supporting Thales Australia’s emerging design, test & evaluation, facilities and industrialisation programs.

Responsibilities:

• Provide expert technical advice, programmatic and supervision to leadership, bids, project and production teams on military solid rocket motor propulsion systems design, development, project management and manufacturing.
• Monitor, advise and influence the engineering and project management environment (process, practices and tools) consistent with the applicable rules, and particular necessities of propulsion systems program and bid needs.
• Contribute as a leader within the of the Guided, Space & Hypersonics team to influence decisions, improve performance, operate safely and sustainably, and effectively manage risk in bids, projects and production activities.
• Act as Product Design Authority or Project Design Authority or Project Manager for relevant propulsion related projects or products.
• Lead technical and skills development of engineering and program staff at all levels to deliver sustainable uplift in technology and industrial competency and capability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive innovation, solve complex challenges, and ensure the highest level of propulsion performance and meeting requirements of defence applications

Requirements:

• Tertiary qualified in Aerospace Engineering, or other suitable discipline Extensive experience in solid rocket motor propulsion designing, analysis and testing
• Proven track record of successful project leadership and technical advisory roles
• Proven and effective leadership skills
• High level of interpersonal and verbal communication skills as well as the ability to lead and inspire multi-disciplinary teams
