• Working with the Power Generation team, you will apply your sound knowledge and structural analysis and design experience with two or more years local experience across energy projects.
• Proficient in relevant Australian Standards and capable of providing design solutions and documentation to support energy projects for various development types from feasibility, conceptual to detailed design.
• Experienced in reinforced concrete and structural steel design and can undertake structural analysis with hand calculations, spreadsheets or software packages such as Spacegass/Microstran, SAFE, RAPT, TEDDS or similar.
• Ability to work autonomously and develop quality structural calculations, drawings, reports, technical specifications and other design documentation.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Use your ability to initiate and build relationships with both your peers and clients to push forward the boundaries of what is possible.
• Creative problem-solving skills to continually finds ways to overcome challenges and obstacles.

What will you do?

As a Senior Blast Engineer in our Built Environment team, your expertise will be instrumental in shaping the city's landscape. This role is your chance to channel your knowledge and enthusiasm into a variety of challenging projects, focusing on blast analysis and design. This role offers you the opportunity to apply your knowledge and passion as you work in a diverse and award-winning team on the design of some of Sydney’s most interesting buildings and structures. This role will not only involve blast analysis but also extend to various facets of protective design and security, including progressive collapse, site perimeter security, and operational security, ensuring a comprehensive approach to public safety and infrastructure resilience.

Responsibilities

• Provide physical security/protective design consulting services for new and existing buildings. This can include blast design, site layout, progressive collapse, and design of vehicle barriers.
• Prepare blast threat mitigation strategy reports in conjunction with security advisors and based on threat dependent blast assessment and measure to reduce risk to life safety.
• Perform calculations to determine blast-loading environments.
• Perform nonlinear, dynamic analysis of building structures and façade systems using finite element analysis software such as Strand7, LS-DYNA, Ansys.
• Provide recommendations to reduce or eliminate the probability of structural collapse including blast protection of critical elements to the desired level of protection.
• Provide advice regarding explosive blast-effect predictions and glazing hazard assessments.
• Interface with and present to internal and external clients.
• Be a recognised expert in Blast Design analysis and provide subject matter expertise to our internal stakeholders and clients.

Although not essential the ideal candidate would have:

• A Security Licence (Class 2A) as required by the Security Industry Act, 1997
• Hold the appropriate security licencing for the relevant state or territory.
• A university degree qualification in civil or structural engineering.
• A minimum of 5 years of relevant blast engineering related experience.

About the role

We are looking for a driven and results oriented individual to deliver WOW service across the Global Synthetics products, provide solution-based calls and deliver growth.

With rapid growth ahead of us in Western Australia, we have created a new Geotechnical Engineer role which will be key to Global Synthetics growth strategy.

Responsibilities will include:

• Working hand in hand with supplier development, technical design requirements, and that the material fully complies with our expectations and project specifications. 
• Determine material and quality standards depending on environmental factors (soils, rocks etc).
• Present and analyse engineering drawings to consultants, on best Geosynthetics technical capabilities for specific projects
• Provide technical product sales advice to ensure the success of Global Synthetics winning sales opportunities.
• Develop new business opportunities aligned with the growth of Western Australia's infrastructure projects.
• Maximise revenue and gross profit for Western Australian region

The successful applicant will have:  

• At least 3 years’ experience working across geotechnical products
• Geotechnical/Civil Engineer qualified around 5 to 10 years' relevant experience
• Demonstrated solid geotechnical investigation and delivery experience on a variety of infrastructure projects, including strong judgement and decision-making ability
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with clients and stakeholders
• Well-developed time management experience, including the ability to work independently
• Developing project management skills
• Accomplished written and verbal communication skills

Squiz is looking to add a Software Engineer (PHP) to our business applications team. Playing a key role in designing, developing and maintaining Squiz’s in-house business systems. This is a great opportunity to work with various teams across the business i.e. HR, finance etc. 

Who you are:

For this role, we ask that you can demonstrate the following:

• Mid-Senior level PHP development experience
• Experience using coding frameworks (e.g Laravel, Lumen)

What you would do:

• Designing, developing and maintaining integrations for global platforms, systems and services using a broad range of technologies

• Working directly with our Business Analyst to ensure our data and business processes align
• Troubleshoot tickets and bugs related to our internal applications, integrations and automated processes
