Our Stewarding Supervisor is required to:

• Supervise and coordinate activities in the Stewarding Department to ensure all Food and Beverage Outlets and the Kitchen are provided with clean and sanitised operating equipment.

The Area Supervisor reports directly to the NSW Network Manager and is responsible for overseeing the activities of cleaning contractors to ensure that TOMRA assets in the field are kept to a high standard of cleanliness and functionality at all times.

This will be achieved by identifying key operational deficiencies in the performance of contractors, site conditions, and relationships with site stakeholders and then working closely with the management team to implement improvement strategies designed to promote the customer experience.

You will be responsible for maintaining a strong customer focused relationship with our partners and support with resolving any operational, safety issues that arise in relation to the TOMRA Return Points on a site-by-site bases.  As this role is responsible for overseeing the contractors and managing landlord relationships throughout a geographic region this will require extensive travel throughout the region.

A requirement of the role is to oversee the training of contractors and staff and to ensure benchmarks for cleanliness, safety, and productivity are consistently achieved for TOMRA assets in the field.

This role is full time (5 days per week) and the successful applicant will be required to work 1 weekend day a week.

Additional tasks may include:

• Ensure kiosks are always well presented, and maintenance schedules are adhered to.

• Optimize networks to ensure contractors are operating effectively and efficiently, and that they fully understand their duties and expectations.

What you’ll be doing:

• Supervise and lead the delivery of allocated contracted services, for the Kerbside Services business unit and other allocated contracts, ensuring service continuity, achievement of service standards, and the provision of quality customer service is maintained.
• Undertake contract management and procurement activities for allocated contracts, including but not limited to; specification development, tendering, submission evaluation, contract negotiation, contract award, report writing, contract extensions and variations, contract management, contract administration, contract inspections, contract meetings, and transition activities.
• Support the implementation of allocated actions and the achievement of targets from Council’s strategic documents, including the Waste and Resource Recovery Strategy 2022-2030.
• Ensure the timely and effective delivery of allocated actions from the department Business Plan.

• Participate in the recruitment, induction, and training (internal and external of the Waste Contracts group employees.

• Monitor the financial performance of contracted waste services, including the provision of forecasts, projections, and the development of financial reports.
• Provide high-quality, professional written and verbal reports, presentations, and advice to the Coordinator Waste Contracts, Manager Waste and Sustainability, other departments, and external parties.

The skills and experience you’ll bring to the role:

• Demonstrated contract supervision, management and administration skills, with a proven ability to effectively manage long-term service contracts, preferably in waste, or another operational context within a Local Government environment.
• Experience in the development of tender specifications and contract documentation.
• Highly developed and effective verbal and written communication skills, with proven experience in report writing, and in the preparation of contract specifications and documentation.
• Demonstrated ability to establish and sustain effective working relationships with a diverse array of stakeholders.
• Experience, knowledge and understanding of procurement and contracted service deliver within a Local Government environment.
• Demonstrated experience complying with and working to Occupational Health and Safety regulations, policies and procedures.

Are you an experienced, Handyperson, with a passion to add value? You'll be part of a hard working small Team reporting into the property Maintenance Supervisor. Your problem solving skills and existing maintenance skills will help you in this casual role. You may assist across both locations, Pumphouse Point and Derwent Bridge Hotel. You'll have flexibility to work on weekends as required. 

This casual role offers 2-3 days as a Handyperson, with remaining shifts assisting in Food & Beverage or Housekeeping depending on your skillset and experience. Staff accommodation is also available. 

What you’ll do:

• Incidental maintenance repairs in rooms, amenities and other facilities.
• Incidental customer service assistance with in-room repairs.
• Assist with building projects, major repairs, renovations, mechanical repairs - painting, basic plumbing or replacing hardware.
• Maintenance of grounds and gardens
