Reporting to the Restaurant Manager, a maintenance employee forms a critical part of the restaurant team. This role is suited to an individual who is highly organised, is able to work autonomously and displays high attention to detail. A maintenance employee is primarily focused on cleanliness of the restaurant (internally and externally) and preparing the restaurant for trade each day.

This is a part-time position with typical working hours between 4am and 12pm. Days and hours may change and vary in time to meet the needs of the restaurant. This position falls under the Miscellaneous Award, 2020.

About the role

Reporting to the Asset & Maintenance Manager, the role is responsible for the electrical maintenance of new and existing assets and equipment. Key Responsibilities of the role:

• Manage our team of maintenance personnel to encourage and deliver a highly effective service which supports the manufacturing operation.
• Provide day-to-day operational leadership for trades personnel, ensuring effective communication is maintained
• Lead and drive safe working attitudes and behaviours
• Promote an open, flexible work environment while complying with all company policies and procedures
• Drive performance, accountability and engagement within the Maintenance Department with a key focus on building capability
• Ensure food safety and quality requirements are adhered to
• Deliver R&M costs to budgeted figures
• Support best practice asset Reliability Systems and support to the Maintenance Team.
• Implement continuous improvement through a CI programme including RCAs
• Support production and site activities to optimise productivity and minimise downtime
• Plan maintenance work to align with plant and resource availability

The Opportunity

Come and discover the opportunity to join our Lysaght business in our Townsville team as an Electrical Maintenance Technician. In this hands-on, business critical role, you will be supporting the maintenance of our machinery, so that we can continue manufacturing our world class products and solutions for our valued customers.

You’ll be based at our Townsville site as well as the opportunity to manage projects across other branches within the region. You will be working to complete scheduled maintenance, you will also be required for call outs, after hours/weekend and shutdown hours. Shift will be day shift (6:00am – 2:30pm). Overtime is available and this position will be eligible for our bonus scheme as well as 14% Super.

What Will You Do?

In a role that impacts the safety of our people as well as the quality and reliability of our equipment and products, you will be the first and main point of contact when it comes to equipment and maintenance.

You will:

• ensuring stoppages, performance issues or breakdowns are rectified in a safe and timely manner.
• maintaining formal maintenance, change management, down time, and quality records in accordance with company requirements and procedures
• working consistently towards the completion of the electrical preventative maintenance schedule for the site
• diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical issues with plant and machinery
• working with our fitters to ensure continuous improvement initiatives are identified and introduced wherever practicable.

We are looking for enthusiastic and energetic Day Time Cleaner to join the team at McDonald’s Thomastown. This position is primarily focused on cleanliness and the general upkeep of the restaurant (internally and externally) and preparing the restaurant for trade each day. We are a 24-hour business, days and hours may change and vary in time to meet the needs of the restaurant, however flexibility can be provided with times and hours in certain circumstances.

Your keys to success:

• Well-presented, friendly and organised with a high level of attention to detail
• Able to work autonomously
• Day time starts available to prepare the restaurant for trade and delivering a clean restaurant appearance
• Able to complete the physical requirements of the role - ability to mop, scrub, climb ladders, clean windows and toilets
• Full working rights in Australia is required

Tasks & Responsibilities

• Maintain all aspects of the internal and external restaurant environment to provide a clean, functioning and welcoming environment for Crew, Managers and Customers
• Maintain the restaurant carpark, patio and all exterior equipment including, but not limited to: bins, gardens, curbs, signage, floors, tables and chairs
• Organise and clean the back area of the restaurant including the corral area and staff toilets/changerooms
• Complete ad hoc maintenance tasks when requested by the Management team
