About the role
The Marketing and Events Coordinator is responsible for planning, executing, and optimising marketing campaigns across various channels and developing, promoting, and delivering a range of events across Melba for both internal and external stakeholders. This position is accountable for the planning and delivery of creative events that showcase Melba’s services and meet other requirements as defined. Key focus of the role includes experience in campaign management, event management, digital marketing, and project coordination within a dynamic marketing team.
What you’ll be doing (key accountabilities)
- Assist in the development and execution of integrated marketing campaigns, including digital, social media, email, events, and traditional advertising.
- Coordinate project timelines, tasks, and deliverables to ensure campaigns are executed smoothly and on schedule.
- Using co-design principles, collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop an event program that aligns to Melba's strategic objectives and fosters awareness of Melba and its services.
- Research and identify relevant events, conferences, expos, and school engagements that align with Melba’s strategic objectives and target audiences.
- Manage the booking and registration process, including negotiation of sponsorships, exhibitor spaces, or speaking opportunities.
- Plan and coordinate logistics for Melba's participation in events, including materials, staffing, presentations, and promotional activities.
- Collaborate with internal teams to create marketing materials, such as content, graphics, and promotional assets.
- Support the management of digital marketing channels, including website updates, social media content scheduling, intranet and email campaign deployment.
- Develop the production and distribution of branded Melba items including signage, media backdrops and merchandise.
- Create memorable and impactful events through innovative and creative end-to-end event management including the development of detailed event plans, vendor/agency management and post event reporting.
- Collaborate with the Communications team to develop content to support and promote events.
Your background (skills and attributes)
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, event management, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Proven experience in marketing, communications, or event coordination, with a track record of managing large and small events successfully.
- Strong understanding of digital marketing channels, social media platforms, and advertising campaign planning.
- Exceptional organisational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritise, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines autonomously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail and creativity.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with marketing tools and platforms.
- Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills, adept at building effective partnerships across teams.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to align events and communications with organisational objectives.

Requirements
- A current Australian Driver Licence.
- NDIS Worker Screening and Working with Children Check (we can support you through the process of obtaining one or both checks if you don’t already have them).
- Compliance with OHS&W regulations, legislation, and Policies and Procedures is required. Successful completion of pre-employment safety screening checks, mandatory training, and their subsequent renewals is necessary.
