About the Role
We are seeking a Marine Operations Manager to join our business in Broome, WA. Reporting to the General Manager, this is a key leadership role responsible for the overall marine operations and delivery, including vessel maintenance of Horizontal Falls marine assets.
Key responsibilities include:
- Setting, delivering, and implementing operating plans for the marine operations and maximising the opportunities to achieve the budget and priority targets including continuous improvement, cost management, guest experience and operational excellence
- Providing strategic advice and recommendations for marine operations to the General Manager
- Driving a high-performance culture through delegating, mentoring, and overseeing the work performance of direct reports
- Ownership of marine operating procedures and best practice, driving the safety culture and always ensuring safety, risk and compliance is first class
- Planning and managing service, maintenance and repair programs that continually improve the efficiency, reliability, and presentation of the marine assets including vessels and pontoons to enhance the guest experience
- Actively managing all maintenance related contractors/third party providers – negotiations of pricing, service level agreements, volumes, and contracts
- Ensuring compliance with AMSA, DBCA and other regulatory bodies is maintained
About You
You will be an accomplished operational leader with sound commercial and financial acumen. You will have a proactive and solutions focused approach with a ‘can-do’ attitude to achieve the best outcome for business operations.
Ideally you will have experience in a similar role with exposure to or an understanding of the travel and tourism industry. Trade qualifications as a Vessel Master and/or Marine Engineer or sound knowledge will be beneficial.
This role works closely with our Operations Managers focused on our land and air based operations, along with our dedicated Marine WHS and Group Engineering team to ensure the success and efficiency of the business.
