ABOUT THE ROLE
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Welder to join our growing team. This role will. Welding of aluminum components for new boats following design drawings and including welding schedules. Manufacture additional parts for new builds and refits. Complete maintenance on existing aluminum boats Manage all resources such as materials and co-workers to ensure all jobs are completed within required time frames and budgets to a quality.
In this role you will be responsible for:
• Undertake mechanical repairs and refurbishment including vessel docking.
• Conduct regular planned mechanical maintenance and repairs.
• Respond to equipment and vessel breakdowns in an appropriate time frame.
• Complete Heavy Marine Diesel Engine Installations
• Undertake Installations of different propulsion systems including single and twin screws and water jets
• Ensure compliance with all HSE Policies & Procedures at all times.
• Ensure compliance with industry and quality standards and operating procedures.
• Support diverse marine fleet with your knowledge and experience.
• Working both independently and as part of a team
• New engine installation and fit ups new boat fit outs & rigging
• Experienced in assembling constructional parts of the vessel.

• Installation, inspection, repair, modification and reconditioning of watercraft, small engines and performs general engineering tasks.
• Repair and maintain miscellaneous equipment including small engines, general service, and marine equipment.
• Operate machines to produce or modify required parts or tools. Check quality of finished parts. Fit and assemble parts.

About This Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to lead a project to develop a rationally-designed vaccine against malaria.

By taking advantage of recent advances in genomic sequencing, proteomics, transcriptional profiling, and molecular immunology, we have discovered unique targets of T cell responses or antibody responses against malaria. This NIH-funded project will test these antigens as vaccine candidates by engineering novel vaccine platforms to enhance T cell responses and assessing immunogenicity, protective capacity and biological function in pre-clinical models of malaria. By establishing proof-of-concept for rational vaccine design from genomic data, this project is expected to advance the development of an effective vaccine against malaria with implications for other challenging public health threats.

The candidate will work with national and international experts and gain experience in malaria biology, immunology and vaccinology, with a specific focus on novel vaccine technologies including mRNA and viral vector vaccine platforms.

Key responsibilities include:?
1. Research
Advance a cutting-edge research program
Produce quality research outputs consistent with discipline norms by publishing in high quality outlets and presenting project outcomes via conference presentations and seminars
Provide technical leadership of project teams, including the development and implementation of project plans, resource management, scheduling, and reporting

Review and draw upon best practice research methodologies
Contribute to transfer of knowledge, technology and practices through research translation, including commercialisation of intellectual property

This is a full-time (100%), fixed-term position for up to 3 years. At Academic level A the full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $75,808.68 - $100,926.59, plus a generous super allowance of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be up to $88,696.16 - $118,084.11 annually. As this role is covered by an Enterprise Agreement, you will also receive regular remuneration increases – at least once a year.

About You
PhD in infectious disease, vaccinology, immunology, biomedical science or related area.

Molecular biology expertise, including RNA extraction, RT-qPCR and molecular cloning.

About the role

This is a full time position (Salary negotiable).

We are looking for a C10 Tradesperson to install, test, connect, commission, maintain and modify electrical equipment, wiring and control systems. Registration or licensing is required.

Your work will be varied and challenging, and the successful applicant will be required to work under pressure and meet strict maintenance deadlines in an industrial environment. As we are a meat processing facility, your role will require you to come into contact with animal waste and by-products. An advanced knowledge and all round ability to carry out a variety of electrical work will be required, industrial experience favoured.

The role will also involve preventative and break down maintenance operations for a large production processing plant and commodities storage and freight terminal.

 

Skills and experience

Applicants will need to possess recent experience in electrical work, carrying out repairs and maintenance on equipment such as generators, RCD testing and general electrical maintenance. 

The suitable applicant will demonstrate abilities in:

Trade qualifications (Certificate III)

Ability to work in a team environment

Ability to work weekends as required

Main duties include:

Studying blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine the layout of plumbing systems and materials required

Setting out and installing hot and cold water systems and associated equipment

Installing water-based fire protections systems, including fire hydrants, hose reels and sprinkler systems

Designing and installing sanitary plumbing and water supply systems, discharge pipes and sanitary fixtures

Fabricating and installing soil and waste stacks

Assembling and installing mechanical services plant, air handling and conditioning equipment and small bore heating systems

Installing sewerage and effluent pumping equipment and disposal systems

Installing below-ground drainage systems and associated ground support systems

Installing gas appliances, flues and pressure regulating devices

Fabricating and installing metal roofing, rainwater goods and flashings

Minimum 5+ years’ experience

Formal qualification - AQF Certificate IV
