Ormeggio at The Spit, situated in the vibrant d'Albora Marina in Mosman, is a lively Italian seafood fine-dining restaurant and Cocktail Bar. Since its inception in 2009, Ormeggio's wine list has been a recipient of numerous awards. With a strong emphasis on Italian wines, complemented by a delightful selection of French and Australian vintages, our diverse cellar offers an engaging experience for wine enthusiasts.
We are currently seeking full-time Section Waiters with fine-dining experience to join our team. Immediate availability is required, and training will be provided as part of the role.
Essential Ormeggio Requirements:
Australian working rights.
Fluent English.
Essential experience, preferably with a solid understanding of Italian cuisine.
Between 18 to 36 months of experience in fine-dining or similarly esteemed hatted restaurants.
Current NSW RSA Certificate.
Completion of Certificate III in Hospitality Proficiency in wine and food knowledge.
Must be able to carry three plates.
Your roles & responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Greet and escort customers to their tables
Present menu and provide detailed information when asked (e.g. about portions, ingredients or potential food allergies)
Prepare tables by setting up linens, silverware and glasses
Inform customers about the day’s specials
Offer menu recommendations upon request
Up-sell additional products when appropriate
Take accurate food and drinks orders, using a POS ordering software,order slips or by memorization
Check customers’ IDs to ensure they meet minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages
Communicate order details to the Kitchen Staff
Serve food and drink orders
Check dishes and kitchenware for cleanliness and presentation and report any problems
Arrange table settings and maintain a tidy dining area
Deliver checks and collect bill payments
Carry dirty plates, glasses and silverware to kitchen for cleaning
Meet with restaurant staff to review daily specials, changes on the menu and service specifications for reservations (e.g. parties)
Follow all relevant health department regulations
Provide excellent customer service to guests
