We are seeking a Maintenance Support Officer to join our on site team at the mine site in Gove, Nhulunbuy.

In this role, you will report directly to the Regional Manager and play a crucial part in coordinating maintenance activities, ensuring that our facilities are safe, efficient, and operational.

The position is residential,  5:2 Monday to Friday, 10 hours per day for local candidates to Nuhlunbuy.  Applicants not currently residing in Nhulunbuy will be required to relocate (housing is provided).

Duties will include, but not limited to:

• Obtain quotes for Preventative and Corrective maintenance contractor works 
• Raising PR for contractor works
• Apply Temp Fixes in IFS
• Follow up PR's advice contractor upon approval and PO's numbers
• Attached completed reports after review from the Planner to the Work Orders
• Weekly Planning Handover Meeting Minutes
• Contact and booking of properties for maintenance
• Previous Experience in Building Maintenance or Facilities Administration
• Base Experience with contractor and asset management systems
•  Intermediate knowledge of Asset management
• Perform well under pressure, high level of attention to detail Quality focus
• Strong communication Client & contractor

General Administration Support

• Foster and maintain a strong rapport with staff, contractors and managers at all levels
• Other duties as directed by management.

Three years of professional experience in administration with demonstrated understanding of contract terms and conditions; understanding of performance measures, and contract administration. Experience in Building Maintenance desirable. Relevant administration experience and or relevant qualification or working towards it.  Experience in facilities management or remote mine environment

You are the 'backbone' of our remote sites team. You’ll contribute extensively to the effective day to day operations and provide a service for customers, ensuring that each experience is as close to that feeling of being in a home away from home. To be successful, you’ll need:   

• Australian manual drivers licence is a must 

• Australian Citizenship, or full Australian working rights  

• Able to undergo a pre-employment medical, including drug & alcohol testing and police check

Who are we looking for? 

Responsible for the effective management of all aspects of Village Services within the client contract, as well as the fulfillment of all contractual obligations and Key Performance Indicators in relation to the operation of a company village. The Village Manager will effectively manage the Heads of Department for all Village Services (Accommodation, Food & Beverage, etc. as per the scope of works). Your responsibilities will include:

• Manage staffing in consultation with the Operations Manager
• Technical troubleshooting for clients and other departments as necessary
• Work closely with maintenance managers to ensure that all plant, equipment and appliances conform to client and manufacturer specifications.
• Regularly review all housing procedures to ensure that measures to secure work safety and environmental protection are in place.
• Identification and delivery of on-site training requirements in line with company policy and legislative requirements.
• Oversee and agree upon disciplinary action for village staff with the Operations Manager, and ensuring that any disciplinary action takes place within regulatory, company and client expectations.
• Promote, implement and assist in the coordination of Sodexo’s reward and benefit programs.
• Manage the implementation of bi-annual employment engagement surveys in cooperation with the communications coordinator, as well as assisting with the communications response to these surveys.
• Work closely with the Operations Manager to develop and implement cost minimization measures where possible.
• Perform financial and cost analysis of housing services and maintenance projects, aligning new and current projects with existing budgets.
• Conduct OHS Toolbox Talks, exercises, drills, meetings and Pre-starts to meet Company, regulatory agency and client expectations.
• Consistent access and review of regulatory, company and client-driven OHS manuals, policies and procedures.

To be successful, you’ll need:  

4 Years Managerial Experience role within hospitality, facility management or similar industry, previous people management and project management experience along with Australian Citizenship, or full Australian working rights.  You will be able to undergo a pre-employment medical, including drug &alcohol testing and police check and you will require a current Manual Driver’s license.

Reporting to the Regional Manager this position is local on a 5:2 roster working 10hours per day. Housing will be provided for the right candidate. Contract is for 12 months with the potential to extend.

Who are we looking for?  

• Ability to drive a zero harm culture through proactive safety leadership and display a true value for safety
• Extensive experience in maintenance works management in a remote environment
• Sound understanding of mines and statutory regulations
• Knowledge of scoping, planning and supervising packages of work
• Ability to foster a positive & productive working relationship and culture between the team members and other departments
• Leadership to coach, review and develop trade personnel to ensure their skills are optimised to their full potential

Duties:

• Coordination & Supervision of maintenance staff and client sub-contractors
• Coordinate, plan & schedule work as required SOW
• Engagement of Client approved suppliers, tradespersons subcontractors
• Monitor, track and report on adherence to budgets, Dashboards and client expectations/KPIs
• Ensuring the facility maintains a high-level maintenance and appearance. Ensure subcontractors are stocking required assets & materials to meet works requirements
• Assess potential new works that may be required on site.
• Coordinate and supervise client subcontractors -Adhere to occupational health and safety and injury management regulations (as per Rio Tinto Aluminium and Sodexo Remote Sites Policy and Procedures). Complete site & document compliance
• Maintaining a sound understanding of contractual obligations and meet customer expectations under the agreement.
• On a monthly or as required, report to the client with respect to the financial, qualitative, contractual engage works with subcontractor.
• Attendance at weekly/monthly meetings with client to assess current progress and prioritise repairs
• Schedule weekly meeting with Sub-contractors & Support officer to review completed works & prioritize outstanding works
• Review quotes and proposals and ensure value for money maintenance solutions.
• Coordinates maintenance activities general & comprehensive, preventive, reactive confirming safe work practices, work quality, fit for purpose, and adherence to scope.
• Complete quality & audit reviews of completed work activities to ensure works are completed in line with agreed scope

• Degree qualification / Trade Certificate
• Front line Management Certification
• CPR Certification (desirable)
• First Aid Certification(desirable)
