About the program

The Intern program provides students with 12 weeks of paid employment, giving you the opportunity to participate in the industry-leading oil and gas projects while acquiring practical skills relevant to your field of study.

We also provide education and training during the program to help cultivate your professional skills within a diverse, inclusive, supportive, and collaborative workplace.

About the role

During the Intern Program, you will work with experienced HSE professionals in activities which support workforce health and safety, and the protection of our environment within our operations and the communities where we work. You can also expect cross-functional opportunities that increase your business knowledge as you collaborate to deliver results.

This role will be based in Chevron’s new building at One The Esplanade.

Eligibility / Requirements

For HSE, we encourage applications from motivated and talented university students from health, safety & environment disciplines, or related disciplines, with a keen interest in the oil and gas industry and advancing the cleaner energy solutions needed for a lower carbon future.

To be eligible for the Chevron Intern Program applicants must be:

• Eligible to legally work and live in Australia permanently.

• In their penultimate or final year of an undergraduate degree or postgraduates.

• Available for a full-time work (Monday to Friday) throughout the duration of employment from 25 November 2024 until 21 February 2025 (with the week of 23 December off work)

We are currently recruiting for Data Engineering Consultants, specialising in Data and AI to join us in our Digital Transformation and Technology service team.

As part of an international and fast-growing community of 250+ data professionals located in our 8 Centres of Excellence (Paris, Montréal, Bruxelles / Amsterdam, New-York, London, Hong Kong, Middle East), you will be an important member of the data & technology team in Australia.

We are seeking data engineering consultants with the below delivery and technical experience in:

• Functional requirements gathering, data design, data modelling and development, enhancing the management and value of data across organisations and markets.
• Technical delivery of scalable, efficient and best practice data pipelines, transformations and ETL’s using Azure or similar tools.
• Data visualisation skills in translating business requirements and metrics into visual reports, dashboards and analytics that provide insight and value to business functions.
• Machine learning, AI and statistics, including developing predictive models of decision making, supervised and unsupervised learning algorithms, econometrics, forecasting, quantitative diagnosis.
• Understanding of key data governance and management concepts including data quality, master data management, meta data management and data lineage.
• Agile & traditional delivery experience in a data and analytics development environment participating in scrum ceremonies, sprint planning and retrospectives.
• Development and delivery experience within a consulting environment maintaining client expectation and ethics.

In addition, we are seeking technical experience across all or some of the below:

• Strong SQL skills to support data pipeline and data modelling.
• Azure, Snowflake, AWS or Oracle data warehousing technologies
• Data transformation tooling including Azure Data Factory (ADF), Fivetran, Matilion, Oracle Data Integration, AWS Glue, AWS Data Pipeline or other.
• Azure services including Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Databricks
• Analytics tooling including Power BI, Tableau, QuickSight or Oracle Analytics Cloud
• Skills related to SSIS, SSAS and SSRS to support traditional data activities.
• DevOps and CI/CD to support deployment automation, Azure preferred.
• Programming skills in Python or similar
• JIRA / Confluence or similar agile tooling experience

Our established Geoscience and Remediation Services (GRS) group is looking for a Principal level consultant with a strong Environmental background to join our well-established team in Perth.

As part of this role, you'll be part of an ambitious team using all your technical and commercial skills, knowledge and experience to oversee the delivery of contaminated land assessment and remediation projects. You’ll be comfortable working with a high degree of independence to ensure technical quality and adherence to budget and programme. As a highly experienced member of our team, you will provide guidance and mentoring to our upcoming professionals, whilst leading and delivering a range of programs designed to provide progressive project solutions for our clients. • Contaminated site investigations
• Remediation, surveillance and validation works

Xodus has a well-respected Environment and Approvals team delivering Environmental Impact Assessment for onshore and offshore environmental approvals for some of Australia’s most high-profile oil & gas and renewable energy companies (including CCS, Hydrogen and Offshore Wind)

We have flexible role available for experienced environmental approvals consultant to do great, meaningful work with our dynamic and busy team.

To be successful in this role you will be able to support multiple offshore and onshore environmental scopes of work ensuring efficient use of our intellectual property and delivering value to our clients. 

We operate as a global team and have opportunities to work with and learn from our Renewables & Environment teams in Japan, UK and the US.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to Environmental Impact Assessment for various onshore and offshore energy projects.
• Support, develop delivery of environmental services to clients including approval planning, execution, and compliance monitoring. 
• Participate in maintaining and developing client relationships

• Tertiary education in an environmental discipline highly desirable, but not essential.

You will work closely with operations and our client to assist with the management of HSE objectives, strategies and accountabilities. You will schedule HSE functions to support operations and act as a point of contact for operational and business departments.  

Your responsibilities will include: 

• Develop and execute health and safety plans 

• Prepare and enforce policies to drive culture of health and safety 

• Evaluate practices, procedures and facilities to assess risk and adherence 

• Conduct training and presentations for health and safety matters and accident prevention 

• Monitor compliance to policies and laws by inspecting employees and operations 

• Investigate accidents or incidents to discover causes and work with IM platform 

• Recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities or new prevention measures 

• Report on health and safety awareness, issues and statistics
