An exciting opportunity exists for a highly motivated and experienced Supply Officer to work within an energetic and cohesive team committed to providing a quality supply service in a supportive team environment. Operated by Healthscope, Northern Beaches Hospital is located in Frenchs Forest in Northern Sydney just 13kms north of the CBD. The hospital is a contemporary 488 bed facility comprising of 60% public and 40% private beds. We provide a wide range of health services to the local community including Surgery, a 50 bed Emergency Department, Intensive Care, Birthing, Paediatrics, Cardiac, Mental Health, Dialysis, Cancer Centre and Outpatients. Northern Beaches Hospital has thirteen operating theatres, one hybrid/cardiac catheter theatre, two Catheter Laboratories and four endoscopy procedure rooms, all supported by a critical care unit which includes two intensive care wards. The key to the hospital's success is a highly skilled and expert team of staff who are supported by a comprehensive range of professional development opportunities. This position is responsible for effectively managing the hospital imprest system which includes goods ordering, receipt and delivery of stock to the wards and other areas of the hospital. The position also includes handling all supply & imprest queries as well as general duties in our internal warehouse area. The position is hands on and requires a high level of physical work. The successful applicant should be able to demonstrate the following:
Previous supply experience, preferably in a healthcare setting
Experience in a computerised inventory management system (i.e. Technology One)
The capability to work in all areas of supply including ordering and receipting of medical goods, inventory management as well as management of hospital imprest levels in conjunction with hospital unit managers
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
High level organisation and time management skills
Strong attention to detail
The aptitude to work both independently and within a team structure
Skills and motivation to ensure excellence in customer service
The ability to act in a professional manner at all times when dealing with both internal customers, external suppliers and other key stakeholders within the organisation
The ability to maintain safety standards and adhere to guidelines, policies and procedures.
