About the Senior Financial Accountant:
Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Senior Financial Accountant will supervise the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes, manage the month end reporting requirements, and liaise with external auditors, bank managers and tax specialists as required. The Senior Financial Accountant will be responsible for managing the general ledger, management of the treasury function as well as reporting and management of fixed assets. This role will work closely with a number of departments within ITVSA in the preparation and management of compliance and tax policies and reporting and lodgement requirements for the ITVSA group.
To be successful in this role you must have exceptional attention to detail, excellent communication skills and ability to liaise with multiple internal and external stakeholders. Professional qualification required (CA, CPA or equivalent).
Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Supervision of the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes, including review and approval of payments to creditors;
- Month end reporting requirements including revenue journal postings and consolidated reporting to UK group;
- Managing the general ledger including preparation and review of balance sheet reconciliations, banking and management of intercompany transactions and balances;
- Management of the treasury function including local and UK group cashflow reporting and forecasting;
- Reporting and management of fixed assets for the group;
- Liaison with external auditors, Bank Managers and Tax specialists in conjunction with Financial Controller and Finance Director;
- Preparation and management of compliance and tax policies, reporting and lodgement requirements for the ITVSA group including :
- GST / BAS reporting in Australia,
- VAT returns in Fiji and South Africa,
-Income tax returns in Australia, Fiji and South Africa,
- Fringe Benefits Tax in Australia,
- Payroll Tax and Workers Compensation lodgement requirements,
- Tax reporting to UK Group;
- Prepare year end consolidated financial statements and manage responses to audit requests;
- Prepare and review compliance reporting (i.e. ABS reporting, ATO reporting, etc.);
- Support the Financial Controller and Finance Director with various reporting requirements including revenue recognition and other accounting policies, guidance papers on applicable new standards and significant transactions, etc.;
- Prepare calculations and disclosures for IFRS Lease reporting;
- Involvement in ongoing projects and process improvement initiatives;
- Driving improvements to financial policy;
- Any other duties as you are reasonably required to perform from time to time during the Period of Engagement.
Skills Required:
- Professional qualification required (CA, CPA or equivalent);
- Proactive with good attention to detail;
- Excellent communication skills and ability to liaise with multiple internal and external stakeholders;
- Advanced computer skills;
- Highly organised;
- Ability to work independently within a diverse team.
