Randstad has partnered with a growing national mining organisation based in Singleton, NSW who are looking for an experienced Financial Accountant to join the Accounting division.
This role reports to the Commercial Manager and you will support the financial and operations functions of the business. This role has a mix of financial and management accounting duties.
Given the industry, mining experience is highly desired but not essential as well and previous experience with SAP system use.
This is a full time permanent position based in the Singleton region and is offering $140K - $160K salary package. Parking is available on site.
Key requirements of the Financial Accountant role:
Manage the mining sites financial budget model. Review the budgets and prepare related materials for the leadership team.
Lead the quarterly forecasting process.
Month end processing and posting of journals and accruals when required.
Cost Management - performance analysis on monthly cost performance and building awareness across the site.
Review capital expenditure.
Statutory financial accounts preparation and voting with external auditors to achieve timely sign off.
General ledger & fixed asset reconciliations.
Cash management, including reviewing cash forecasts and bank reconciliations.
Review tax returns e.g. BAS, FBT, etc
System Maintenance (SAP & XERO)
Preferred skills and experience for the Financial Accountant position:
Ideally the preferred candidate will be CA/ CPA qualified or working towards completing their studies.
Ideally worked within the mining / heavy industries sector, however this is not essential.
Worked with a large accounting ERP system e.g. SAP or similar
Strong knowledge of commercial and accounting practices.
Ability to work to strict deadlines and part of a collaborative team.
