About The Role

We are seeking an experienced hands-on Business Development Manager to join our sales team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying, developing and maintaining strong and trusting business relationships in the territories covering the Central Coast, Newcastle and up to Coffs Harbour. We already have established relationships in these areas and are looking to have a professional give these clients more focus as well as building new relationships.

The successful candidate would ideally live in or around Newcastle or the Central Coast, as this is where the majority of the clients are located and therefore where the majority of your time would be spent. There would be a requirement for regular visits to our flagship showroom and head office which is located in Sydney. Particularly so during your on-barding.

The Business Development Manager will be instrumental in managing a large list of clients across many market segments from architects to landscape architects, to interior designers, landscapers, and builders. It is your responsibility to seek out where the most opportunity lies. Your personality, effective self-management, motivation and follow through are what will make you successful.

Skills and Experience

• A natural interest and ability in building strong and trusting relationships with people
• The ability to confidently manage client relationships and general day-to-day enquiries
• Great attention to detail in handling business development leads and managing projects from lead to delivery
• An interest in architecture and design
• The ambition to grow and develop existing client relationships through exceptional service and product counsel
• Experience with CRM software a bonus (e.g. Salesforce)
• Ability to work remotely for periods of time, building structure and driving momentum
• Understanding of sales principles and ability to deliver excellent customer experience
• Strong (verbal and written) communication skills with an ability to build relationships

• Creating customised sales plans for key clients

The opportunity:  

• Be part of a dynamic Events, Awards and Digital team showcasing innovative Australian water knowledge and technologies on the national and international stage. 
• Manage and deliver premium in-person, digital and hybrid events in Australia including multi-day and multi-stream conferences, exhibitions, and webinars. 
• Manage the end-to-end production of national and state-based events; everything from program curation and development, managing and engaging with Committees, suppliers, venues, and catering, organising relevant technology requirements and maintaining sponsor relationships, through to financial management and post event reporting. 
• Manage end-to-end delivery of Australian delegations to attend and exhibit at international conferences and exhibitions (e.g. Vietwater) (possible international travel opportunities)  
• Contribute to the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in our region. 

We strive to foster a ‘One AWA’ culture by connecting and working closely with our colleagues, this means collaborating with our Member Engagement Managers in each state/territory to produce and deliver major state-based events. You will also work closely with other members of the broader AWA team on a range of projects. 

What you’ll need to succeed: 

• 1-2 years’ experience in an Event Manager or similar role with demonstrated ability to manage events and exhibitions from conception to delivery.  
• Can-do attitude with a willingness to learn.  
• Appreciation of diversity and cultural sensitivities working with international partners  
• Digitally savvy with proven experience delivering hybrid and digital events.   
• Ability to work with volunteer committees to deliver an event.  
• Self-starter with commitment to the team’s overall success  
• Ability to work across multiple projects simultaneously.   
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills An easy, helpful manner and a calm, unflappable approach will also prove very useful!

What’s the role?

At Naked Wines, Customer Service Team lead means you’re 2IC (2nd in Charge) of, and responsible for the largest team in the organisation; all inbound and outbound customer service, Customer Happiness Team: CHT. 

The primary aim of the team is to help and educate our amazing customers (we literally call them Angels), to get the most out of being a Naked Wines Angel - Spreading the ‘Naked word’ with a proven track record of great service, keeps our Angels coming back for years to come.

Reporting directly to the Head of Operation and Service, you’ll be responsible for the day-to-day running of the service team; motivating, training, and assisting in offering strategic direction.

Responsibilities:

Leadership and Team Management:

• Lead and inspire a team of customer service representatives, fostering a high-performance culture and ensuring a positive work environment.
• Manage and support the team in their day-to-day responsibilities, providing guidance, coaching, and feedback.
• Develop and implement training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of CS team members.
• Set performance goals, conduct performance evaluations, and address any performance issues or conflicts.

Customer Service Operations:

•  Oversee all customer service operations, ensuring the timely resolution of customer inquiries, complaints, and issues.
•  Monitor customer interactions and guide CS team members on handling complex or escalated cases.

Customer Experience Enhancement:

• Work closely with other departments to improve the customer experience and resolve any systemic issues impacting customer satisfaction.
• Identify trends and patterns in customer feedback and proactively implement solutions to address them.

Communication and Reporting:

• Act as a point of contact for escalated customer issues and provide timely and appropriate resolutions.
• Prepare and present regular reports on customer service metrics, team performance, and customer feedback to HOS
• Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, providing updates on customer service operations, challenges, and improvements.

The Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Histology Manager. In this role, the successful candidate is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management of the Histology laboratory including but not limited to operational management, quality assurance, staffing, workflows, time management, technician training, equipment maintenance, vendor agreements and more.  You will be a LEAN advocate and ensure the laboratory follows all LEAN principles.    

Key responsibilities:

• Train new team members in LEAN practices, time management, and prioritisation. 
• Identify and address value stream waste, applying LEAN principles for waste reduction. 
• Document LEAN progress using metrics and visuals. 
• Lead, manage and supervise the laboratory team including recruitment, workforce allocation (rostering), and facilitation of team meetings, performance management issues and participation in any disciplinary matters. 
• Maintain a department environment which promotes cooperation between co-workers.     
• Establish and maintain all laboratory records in accordance with specifications. 
• Ensure that all equipment within the Laboratory is functioning properly and ensures that all personnel is educated on proper techniques of operation. 
• Provide technical expertise regarding problem solving and manages specimen discrepancies including investigating, retraining and resolving, documenting and notification to the COO. 
• Develop and implement laboratory operating policies and procedures including the laboratory quality control program and adhere to ISO and NPAAC requirements.    
• Demonstrate a strong sense of professional ethics and immediately brings to the attention of the COO suspected errors that might impact patient care. 
• Participate in the safety training program of the company and makes certain that staff are properly trained. 
• Expand the laboratory portfolio by helping to develop new research projects and proposals. 
• Recommend measures to improve testing procedures, use of equipment and any need for new equipment.   

Requirements

• Tertiary Degree in Medical Laboratory Science or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in a Histology laboratory.
• Minimum 3 years of Supervisory experience required.
• Ability to organise and prioritise workflow to meet the company’s and client requirements.
• Experience with purchasing and consumable levels within agreed budgets
• Ability to consistently maintain compliance with Histopath’s standard operating procedures at all times.
• Demonstrated commitment to excellent customer service with a high level of interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to develop and maintain strong collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders with a diverse range of people at all levels.
