We are looking for a casual Broadcast Engineer/ Panel Operator, reporting to the 6PR Engineering Manager. This role is responsible for helping oversee the operation of the station from an IT and engineering perspective, with focus on our Broadcast Studios. The role also lends itself to putting live programs to air, managing time and commercial commitments within shows, liaising with presenters and producers.

Day to day will include but won’t be limited to: 

• Providing technical support for broadcast systems promptly.
• Managing incidents using service delivery ticketing systems.
• Assisting other broadcast technology teams as directed.
• Keeping announcers and producers informed of show progress and timing.
• Playing music, interviews, commercials, and other elements at appropriate times.
• Coordinating and inserting traffic reports, sporting updates, and live reads.
• Ensuring acceptable audio levels and quality.
• Recording and editing audio as required.
• Maintaining studio cleanliness and reporting equipment faults.
• Ensuring accurate commercial material playback and reporting discrepancies.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Coastal Engineer or Scientist to join our Sydney or Perth office.  The position is ideal for a coastal engineering or oceanography graduate or early career professional with up to 5 years' experience.  The role offers a hands-on practical introduction to coastal process investigations, with exposure to numerical modelling and data analysis, whilst providing general assistance to our team in other areas such as programming, GIS and data compilation.  This diverse role will include mentoring and advice from experienced engineering and science professionals.  Baird undertake projects throughout Australia and there will be opportunities to be involved in projects worldwide as part of the global Baird team.

Who You Are 

You have Trade relevant Mechanical engineering qualifications – Fitter, Fitter machinist, mechanical engineer, with proven, hands-on, post qualification experience, assembling and disassembling mechanical (separation) machinery and components.

You are an individual that has excellent organizational skills to record service tasks in a clear concise service report and submit all job-related paperwork and expenditure in a timely manner.

You are a great communicator, able to discuss issues and advise solutions to our customers equipment and processes.

You must be confident & self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously or remotely supported, able to follow direction and instructions with ease.

• Servicing, troubleshooting, and commissioning of Decanter centrifuge & High-speed separators.
• Be able to read & interpret engineering drawings, manuals, exploded diagrams & P&ID drawings.

What you Know

• Provide high-quality design services across lighting, HV, LV, instrumentation, controls and communications
• Assist with quality assurance to ensure work meets quality standards and quality specifications.
