How will your ideas contribute to shaping what’s next?

As our new Senior Mechanical Engineer, you’ll be a vital part of the Industrial Mechanical practice group in Perth who are bringing ideas to life by imagining and co-creating with our clients to create a better future for people and the planet. Your role will include: 
•    Delivering technically excellent mechanical engineering designs and consultancy services and working collaboratively with multidisciplinary project teams to deliver an exciting portfolio of materials handling and complex machines projects.
•    Performing a senior engineer role on projects.
•    Mentoring and facilitating the technical development of more junior resources.
•    Assisting to drive business development, winning work, identifying the next opportunities and supporting the winning of these opportunities. Assist with bid preparation and submittals as required.
•    Developing and maintaining strong client relationships.
•    Working collaboratively with other team members to deliver goals and targets of the practice group and to facilitate knowledge sharing and coaching.
•    Driving and supporting a culture of safety and quality within the team.

What are we looking for from you?

We value that each of our team members brings something different to Aurecon. We look for people who have had a broad range of experiences throughout their career and can demonstrate how they have worked as part of a team to bring ideas to life.


As well as experience in a similar Senior Mechanical Engineer role. Specifically:
•    Bachelor’s degree or master’s in mechanical engineering.
•    Registered Professional Engineer or equivalent with recognised professional body. Chartered status preferable.
•    Solid technical background and practical application experience with a preference in bulk materials handling, machine design and resource sector related fields. Experience within the WA resources sector preferable. Sound knowledge and experience implementing relevant technical standards. Proficient with relevant mechanical design software.
•    Experience working on projects from early feasibility and concept design phases through detailed design and construction and commissioning support.
•    Developing business and commercial acumen. Familiar with goals and metrics that drive business, financial and project performance and manages own scope and time to optimise team performance and efficiency.
•    Willingness to apply technical skills to all facets of engineering consultancy which may include design, leadership, management, client relationship management and work winning.
•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey mechanical engineering outcomes with suitable language that can be understood by clients, stakeholders and other engineering disciplines.
•    The ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and to effectively collaborate with those around you. A growing knowledge across a range of disciplines.
•    A desire to continually grow your own career and technical development by staying abreast of industry best practice design methods, software, technologies and by adopting digital delivery, and innovation. A desire to share knowledge, contribute, grow and develop the capability and experience of the team.
