This newly created role is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and focused individual who would like to be part of a dynamic, fast-paced team. As part of this team, you will manage the multiple work streams, projects tasks, programmes and channels which the local Australian team is responsible for across the ANZ and Pacific region; with a pathway to Project Management and associated professions. The role involves a range of duties, including but not limited to the following:

• Administrative support of the Project Management Team
• Responsible for managing and tracking project tasks, milestones, and deliverables
• Assist the project and business teams to scope and plan projects
• Coordinate internal and external teams for project delivery
• Manage and contribute to project business cases, project risk, issue management and change requests
• Manage and assist in product testing and quality control
• Assist and coordinate in answering technical or process queries
• Take minutes at meetings or workshops
• Manage tasks required for sprint planning
• Report and update project status (monthly updates meeting and quarterly prioritisation meetings)
• Develop project documentation
• Coordinate with the team of international project managers on project delivery tasks
• Manage project closure and ensure proper handover to operations team

• At least 2 years’ experience in working in project coordinator role or environment
• Ability to apply project management method/methodology principles
• Ability to work with internal and external cross functional teams and stakeholders
• Ability to coordinate and work closely as part of a global team
• Work with limited/minimal supervision on tasks and activities assigned.
• Highly developed documentation, knowledge and information management skills;
• Good analytical and problem solving skills.
• Organised and able to handle multiple concurrent tasks and deadlines.
• Intermediate MS Office software skills.

Additional Preferred Qualities:

• Ability to understand the business and acquire product knowledge and procedures;
• Technical/engineering/CS background;
• Tertiary education, Project Management certification is desirable but not required;
• Outgoing Personality and Team Orientated;
• Experience in Banking, Telco, Payment Processing, Transactions Processing is highly desirable but not required;
• Basic SQL knowledge is desirable as well as ability to learn proprietary systems and tools

This role is of strategic importance to open pathways to introduce our technology with transport and logistics companies all over ANZ. You will have a background in sourcing new business opportunities; and have extensive experience with negotiating high level deals that may be complex in structure.

Having knowledge of the logistics industry will be a huge benefit, but most importantly your ability to understand quicky the relationships and connections to unlock deals will be paramount. Because of the nature of these partnership opportunities, networking, connecting with key decision makers and having a presence online and in person at key events will play an important role in your success. The nature of this role would require you to be on the road very often to meet our clients across ANZ.

• Database
  • Assist with the continued development and scaling of Octopus Australia’s single source of truth for operational and financial data.
  • Map and document current processes within the organisation and the future state of such systems and processes.
  • Identify optimisation opportunities, ensuring data integrity, security, and governance.
  • Analyse information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicting data, break down complex information into finer details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding.
• Insights and Visualisations
  • Implement best practices for data visualization and reporting in Power Bi.
  • Derive actionable insights based on qualitative and quantitative data.
  • Update and where possible automate maintenance of the information platform with monthly and quarterly updates from the business.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance end-user reports utilising Power BI to facilitate data driven decision making.
• Project Management
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Evaluate potential software solutions, including off-the-shelf and open-source components, and the system architecture to ensure that they meet business requirements.
• Finance Experience
  • Conduct thorough data analysis to identify trends, business insights and opportunities for improvement.
  • Assist with responding to Investor requests.
  • Ad-hoc requests from Strategic Finance team.
