Job Title: Chef/Cook
Location: Punjabi Hut Indian Restaurant, Queanbeyan, NSW 2620
Salary: $70,000 - $80,000 per annum

Punjabi Hut Indian Restaurant, located in Queanbeyan, NSW, is renowned for delivering authentic Indian cuisine with an emphasis on traditional Punjabi flavors. We are currently seeking a passionate, skilled, and experienced Chef/Cook to join our dedicated kitchen team.
Key Responsibilities:
• Preparation and cooking of high-quality dishes according to the restaurant’s established menu.
• Preparing ingredients, such as chopping, cutting, marinating, mixing, and cooking to create a range of Indian dishes, including curries and tandoori items.
• Planning and modifying the menu as needed to enhance customer satisfaction.
• Ensuring the service line is fully stocked, organized, and immaculately presented at all times.
• Managing the overall kitchen operations effectively to ensure smooth service.
• Strict adherence to food safety, hygiene, and occupational health and safety (OH&S) standards.
• Monitoring and ordering supplies to maintain stock levels efficiently.
• Assisting in the selection, training, and supervision of kitchen staff, as required.
Qualifications and Skills Required:
• Relevant trade qualifications in Commercial Cookery.
• Proven experience in the hospitality industry, particularly as a cook/chef in an Indian restaurant.
• Expertise in Indian cuisine, particularly curries (experience with tandoor cooking is highly advantageous).
• Strong knowledge of kitchen equipment and operations.
• Sound understanding of OH&S and food safety regulations.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Team-oriented mindset with excellent communication skills.
