As the Project Director for Customer Fitout delivery, you will be responsible for providing leadership and driving a high-performing, collaborative team culture to safely deliver highly specialised data centre fitout projects which includes Hyperscale, Colocation, Infrastructure Upgrades, capacity expansion projects across NEXTDC’s existing data centre portfolio.

Reporting to the Head of Capital Works and assisting the Head of Site Development and Chief of Engineering & Design, the Project Director will have extensive experience in the construction of data centres or similar facilities, including a strong understanding of mission critical infrastructure, with a proven ability to safely deliver projects, on time, on budget, and to high quality, while achieving business case objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work with the technical team to design customised solutions that meet the customer's needs while aligning with the data centre’s capabilities and infrastructure requirements for the fitout including space allocation, power density, cooling needs, and security protocols, through regular communication and meetings
• Coordinate with Customer Stakeholders to establish strong working relationships with key customer representatives and facilitate effective communication and collaboration among all stakeholders.
• Ensure Customer Satisfaction by striving to exceed customer expectations by delivering a high-quality fitout that meets or surpasses their requirements and addressing any feedback or complaints promptly.
• Provide client-side oversight and direction to the project team, to achieve the end-to-end implementation of new data centre solutions, embedding a strong safety culture, and driving operational and business improvement initiatives.
• Lead and oversee development of pre-construction planning activities including design coordination, budgeting, scheduling and procurement, including the engagement and oversight of the Principal Contractor to undertake Early Contractor involvement processes 
• Undertake the role of Principal’s Representative for the building contracts, acting as day-to-day interface with construction-related consultants and contractors for decision-making and stakeholder communications to ensure effective contract management
• Development and execution of project strategy documents, including the project controls plan, procurement strategy, communications, change management, and risk management plans to align with company goals and objectives.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to optimise project outcomes.
• Monitor project progress, identify risks and issues, and implement effective mitigation strategies.
• Prepare, write, and present regular project updates and reports to senior management and stakeholders.

Major responsibilities will include:

• Successful management of contractors, consultants, and coordination
• Extensive liaison with Owners, Residents, Strata Managers and Committee Members
• Proactive implementation of preventative maintenance programs
• Undertaking reactive repairs including logging, acting, and responding
• Scheduling and arranging statutory certification and inspections of common property.
• Compiling detailed progress reports and maintaining comprehensive records & database
• Act on behalf of the Client in relation to WHS and environmental requirements such as contractor induction, reviewing contractors Safe Work Method Statements and other duties that may be required to ensure the site is a safe place to work and live.

Reporting to the Talent Business Partner Director, you’ll be the connecting link and conduit between the Talent department and senior leaders. With your deep understanding of HR and the realities of the business, you’ll help align talent strategies with key objectives of the business.

• Collaborate with the Talent Business Partner Director and business leaders to understand organizational priorities and business objectives and connect the implementation of strategic HR initiatives to encourage the achievement of those goals. 

Leadership engagement and guidance 

• Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, fostering a culture of open communication and ensuring a fair and consistent application of HR policies and procedures. 
• Monitor the well-being and engagement of senior leaders and their core teams, using an evidence-based and data informed approach as well as employee insights to guide decision-making and increase team cohesion and efficiency. 
• Cultivate strong partnerships with business leaders and offer guidance on complex HR matters. 
• Work closely with other HR stakeholders to ensure short term and/or operational needs are in alignment with the desired strategic HR vision. 
   

Talent management 

• Translate business needs by providing input into workforce planning, development, and engagement programs to ensure the organization’s talent needs are effectively met for the long term.
