The Senior Art Director reports to the Head of Art at Wicked Workshop. The position will see your supervise a large, thriving and talented art team, establish direction, consistency and quality. Your effective, and considered communication style will provide continual feedback, execution standards to help guide the artistic vision for our clients games. As Senior Director, you will ensure that assets are on time, at client and our quality bar, whilst performant in engine. 

• Managing dedicated art teams across geographies or studios, emphasizing overall quality, productivity, and continuous team development.  
• Engages in interactions at a higher level, handling crucial project kick-offs, communications, and escalations, with a focus on meeting and exceeding client expectations.  
• Focuses on guiding art teams across multiple studios to achieve broader project goals and maintain high-quality standards.  
• Play a key role in project planning and execution at a higher level, potentially handling multiple projects simultaneously, with a focus on achieving timelines, quality benchmarks, and budgetary allocations.  
• Engages in comprehensive artistic mentorship, leading and managing dedicated art teams across various domains or studios, contributing to the overall artistic direction.  
• Anticipate future project challenges, spearhead solutions, and set high-level goals for the team.
• Actively support, mentor, and manage the Art leads, Associate Art Directors, and their direct reports by communicating department initiatives, sharing best practices, elevating leadership, and contributing as a community member.
• An impeccable eye for aesthetic quality, visual excellence and a high attention to detail demonstrated through an impressive art portfolio.
• Highly proficient in current development tools and software including Unreal, Unity, Maya/ 3DS Max/Blender, Zbrush and Substance.
• A confident art leader with excellent verbal and written communication skills. You will have the ability to articulate visual ideas with clarity and conviction and provide clear feedback and guidance.
• Good understanding of fundamental art principles; colour and lighting theory, composition and staging techniques.

What you’ll be doing:

• Aligning an organisation's technology strategy with its business mission, strategy, and processes and documenting this using architectural models.
• Develops models and plans to drive the execution of the business strategy, taking advantage of opportunities to improve business performance.
• Contributes to creating and reviewing a systems capability strategy which meets the business's strategic requirements.
• Design, develop and deliver enterprise-grade solutions that align with the business requirements and the IT strategy and architecture principles of Hume City Council.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to project teams and stakeholders on the best practices and standards of solution architecture and integration.
• Collaborate with other architects, developers, analysts, testers, and vendors to ensure high quality and timely delivery of solutions.
• Evaluate and recommend new and emerging technologies, methodologies and frameworks that can enhance the capability and performance of the IT environment.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of the IT architecture roadmap, policies, standards, and governance processes.
• Develop the Data Architecture model for council to enable data driven decisions.
• Leads the development of architectures for complex solutions ensuring consistency with agreed requirements. 
• Establishes policies, principles, and practices for the selection of solution architecture components.
• Identifies the communications and relationship needs of stakeholder groups. Translates communications/stakeholder engagement strategies into specific activities and deliverables.
• Determines the approaches to be used for user experience analysis. 
• Plans and manages user experience and accessibility analysis activities.

The skills and experience you’ll bring to the role:

• Possesses comprehensive knowledge of recognized industry standards and bodies of knowledge, both general and specialized. 
• Maintains a thorough understanding of the business landscape, including suppliers, partners, competitors, and clients.
• Experience in a lead Architecture or similar role, preferably within government or enterprise environments.
• Strong understanding of software architecture principles, design patterns, and enterprise integration concepts.
• Proficiency in designing and implementing scalable, reliable, and secure software solutions.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Hands on experience with cloud platforms and SaaS products. Technology One Experience highly regarded.
• Demonstrated understanding of architecture domains and how to introduce solutions architecture to support ICT strategy.

Required Certifications & Qualifications: 

• Degree in Computer Systems, Business, Data Science, or related field
• Industry certifications in TOGAF or similar
