The Lead Architect will be responsible for the development of our maturity in enterprise architecture and the development of architecture domains supporting the business through our digital transformation and through continual improvement and continual delivery post transformation.
What you’ll be doing:
- Aligning an organisation's technology strategy with its business mission, strategy, and processes and documenting this using architectural models.
- Develops models and plans to drive the execution of the business strategy, taking advantage of opportunities to improve business performance.
- Contributes to creating and reviewing a systems capability strategy which meets the business's strategic requirements.
- Design, develop and deliver enterprise-grade solutions that align with the business requirements and the IT strategy and architecture principles of Hume City Council.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to project teams and stakeholders on the best practices and standards of solution architecture and integration.
- Collaborate with other architects, developers, analysts, testers, and vendors to ensure high quality and timely delivery of solutions.
- Evaluate and recommend new and emerging technologies, methodologies and frameworks that can enhance the capability and performance of the IT environment.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of the IT architecture roadmap, policies, standards, and governance processes.
- Develop the Data Architecture model for council to enable data driven decisions.
- Leads the development of architectures for complex solutions ensuring consistency with agreed requirements.
- Establishes policies, principles, and practices for the selection of solution architecture components.
- Identifies the communications and relationship needs of stakeholder groups. Translates communications/stakeholder engagement strategies into specific activities and deliverables.
- Determines the approaches to be used for user experience analysis.
- Plans and manages user experience and accessibility analysis activities.
The skills and experience you’ll bring to the role:
- Possesses comprehensive knowledge of recognized industry standards and bodies of knowledge, both general and specialized.
- Maintains a thorough understanding of the business landscape, including suppliers, partners, competitors, and clients.
- Experience in a lead Architecture or similar role, preferably within government or enterprise environments.
- Strong understanding of software architecture principles, design patterns, and enterprise integration concepts.
- Proficiency in designing and implementing scalable, reliable, and secure software solutions.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Hands on experience with cloud platforms and SaaS products. Technology One Experience highly regarded.
- Demonstrated understanding of architecture domains and how to introduce solutions architecture to support ICT strategy.
Required Certifications & Qualifications:
- Degree in Computer Systems, Business, Data Science, or related field
- Industry certifications in TOGAF or similar
