The VCA team within Australia provides a comprehensive range of consulting services and solutions to our clients in Australia and New Zealand, that address unique challenges in areas such as strategic growth, profitability, risk management and digital strategy.        

What a Consulting Director does at Visa:
VCA is looking for a Consulting Director to lead consulting engagements for our clients in Australia and New Zealand, enabling portfolio growth and improved profitability across their payment businesses.

Typically, 2-4 months in duration and running in parallel, potential projects could include portfolio management diagnostics, assessments of digital product and marketing strategies, product design and launch, development of industry landscape evaluations to inform payments strategies, and optimisation of client customer experience and supporting processes. 

The Director will be responsible for identifying new business development opportunities, leading client engagements, and delivering recommendations. Typically, this will involve the Director interacting with the client team and internal staff, gathering, and managing project inputs, analysing data to form conclusions and recommendations, developing and presenting compelling project reports and working with clients on executing recommendations.  The Director will lead business development activities by writing proposals and scoping new projects.  The full range of responsibilities is detailed below:

Responsibilities

On a project-by-project basis:

• Prepare client project proposals, clarifying objectives, scope, deliverables, approach, dependencies, roles and responsibilities; draw input from clients, local client relationship managers and functional teams
• Oversee project setup including contracting documentation, stakeholder engagement, interview guides and client data requirements
• Develop a fact base by undertaking client interviews, collecting, and analysing inputs such as client data, process flows, policies, competitive, industry and environmental information
• Analyse Visa and client data to conduct benchmarking, identify performance gaps and improvement opportunities
• Collaborate with data science team members to leverage advanced data analytics capabilities
• Manage execution of one or more project engagements, building client relationships, utilising governance frameworks and mitigating / resolving complex problems that emerge
• Identify solutions and recommendations that address client objectives and result in performance improvement; leverage relevant VCA methodologies, frameworks, and global best practices
• Design and deliver compelling presentations to illustrate findings, ideas, recommendations within consulting engagements and more broadly, at times support implementation at the client onsite

More generally:

• Identify and surface opportunities for client projects and submit for inclusion into account plans
• Continuously build knowledge, surface new insights, and produce thought leadership pieces that contribute to practice development and global best practice

The Digital Director oversees the Partnerships digital strategy and go to market approach and ensures the successful activation of clients’ investments. 

This position requires a strong leader with proven experience managing teams, juggling multiple high level projects at one time, researching and justifying digital partner selection and developing and negotiating multi-faceted media and marketing partnerships. As the digital lead for your clients, you drive collaboration, excellence and quality of product across all digital channels to deliver the most strategic, holistic and integrated investment solutions.

Directors must think strategically and work collaboratively with other Partnerships disciplines and with client team leaders in Client Advice & Management, Strategy, Connections Design and SBUs to create implementation recommendations that deliver on client strategic goals and business objectives. You maintain excellent relationships with each of the SBUs, proactively collaborating to drive innovation and uptake of each service across your client portfolio.

Collaborates with Strategy, Connections Design and Client Advice & Management teams to ensure alignment with and delivery against client KPIs 
Leads digital negotiation strategy on major client negotiations and activations in conjunction with the CPMO in order to deliver improved product and outcomes YOY
Maintains, develops and grows relationships with appropriate client level contacts
Communicates with clients for digital marketplace intelligence, implementation planning, negotiation and partnership needs and takes ultimate accountability for team’s day-to-day responsibilities 


Internal


Promotes an open working environment where opinions, views and ideas can be shared 
Oversees the development of digital go to market strategy, implementation recommendations and POVs 
Guides and provides digital leadership for the execution of media negotiations managed by the team
Works with the CPMO to develop digital cost benchmarks between campaigns and clients to drive value across client base
Develops and implements best practices, processes and templates for the Investment Partnership teams in conjunction with the Investment Partnership leadership team
Manages and oversees Investment Partnership team’s digital output
Develops opportunities to streamline and automate, creating efficiencies to free up time for creativity Partners with other Partnerships leads to ensure consistency and best practices are implemented across digital channels
Participates in digital partner selection recommendations and justification designed to deliver on client KPI’s using data, analytics and multi-faceted, strategic partnerships, while delivering maximum strategic value and efficiency 
Oversees and provides direction to the Investment Partnership Managers / Directors on digital implementation planning and buying across all channels

The Role

The VCA team within Australia provides a comprehensive range of consulting services and solutions to our clients in Australia and New Zealand, that address unique challenges in areas such as strategic growth, profitability, risk management and digital strategy.

We are currently looking for a Director to lead VCA’s Risk Consulting Practice for the AuNZSP region. In this role, the Director will be responsible for the management and growth of the Practice, holding accountabilities that span, business development, leading consulting engagements, and developing new solutions to continuously enhance the Practice’s client offerings.

On the business development side, the Director will work closely with Visa’s Client Advisory team to identify opportunities to assist Visa’s issuing and acquiring clients.  This will entail, needs discovery and scoping, proposal development, sales support, and project setup and initiation.

The Director will also be responsible for project execution, typically leading small teams of consultants and cross-functional experts across a range of client engagements simultaneously. This will involve the Director collaborating with the client team and internal colleagues, gathering and managing project inputs, analysing data to form conclusions and recommendations, developing and presenting compelling project reports and working with clients on executing recommendations.
