About the role
Permanent Full-Time based in Ingleburn, NSW 2565.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Accountant to join our Finance Team based at Ingleburn, NSW reporting to the Chief Financial Officer.
As a Senior Accountant you will, support the Finance Team in maintaining the financial functions within the projects as well as financial performance of all departments of the company, to ensure integrity and transparency of financial data to facilitate planning and decision-making.
Responsible for the end-to-end accounting and reporting of all sites of Favcote. This includes providing monthly and year-end financial performance reporting for projects and all departments ensuring compliance with the Favcote’s internal control systems, polices, procedures and relevant accounting standards.
Key Duties and Responsibilities include:
• Monitoring cash flow balance daily to ensure sufficient funds are available to meet immediate payments.
• Analysing factors driving cash flow management for process improvement both within team and cross-function as needed.
• Responsible for cost analysis reporting for repair and maintenance projects.
• Completing all monthly reconciliations to ensure accurate monthly reporting.
• Responsible for month-end closing including resolving accounting discrepancies, preparing closing journal entries, and recording all the accruals, prepayments, fixed assets depreciation and amortization entries.
• Preparing monthly and quarterly financial reports.
• Overviewing weekly payroll processing payments, preparing monthly Superannuation Contributions reports, and lodging payroll tax reports to the State Revenue Office.
• Completing relevant tax returns, including BAS, FBT, and PAYG submissions.
• Directly report to upper management about the financial performance of the business by weekly and monthly profit and loss reports, cash flow statements, accounts payable ageing and accounts receivable ageing.
• Analytical review activities for reporting & planning, ensuring accuracy and integrity of all financial information presented.
• Supporting external audit requests by providing accounts analysis and required documents.
• Developing budgeting and forecast, preparing periodic reports that compare actual costs and budgeted expenses.
• Assisting with the preparation of year-end financial statements.
• Implementing and maintaining appropriate internal controls, ensuring a strong governance culture, including compliance requirements with Company Policies, Accounting Standards and Customer contractual legislative.
Skills and Experience:
• Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in accounting. Previous project/contract administration experience in medium/large projects, or construction or manufacturing environments will be highly regarded.
• Tertiary qualifications in accounting, finance, or related discipline are a requirement
• Completed CA or CPA qualification, or near completion.
• Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel skills.
• Well-developed knowledge of ERP systems or relevant financial business information systems/software, such as MYOB and Monday.
• Sound understanding of project scheduling costing systems and earned value techniques.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to understand, analyse and communicate the financial data of specific initiatives/plans.
• Audit experience (Highly desirable).
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work within a team, and exceptional customer service skills.
• No work restrictions working in Australia.
