About the Role
The College of Science and Engineering is seeking an Associate Lecturer or Lecturer in Computer Science, to join the talented academic staff at Flinders University. As a Teaching Specialist you will focus on teaching and teaching-related activities which involve the creation, delivery, and continuous quality improvement of university-level education.

As the Associate Lecturer/Lecturer, you will be accountable for contributing to excellence in teaching and learning across the suite of computing related topics within the Computing and Mathematical Sciences Teaching Program.

You will be required to contribute to teaching and the scholarship of teaching using innovations in teaching practices and technologies, that will enhance the student experience. Other responsibilities of the role may include curriculum design and review, contributing towards maintaining internal and external compliance and accreditation of courses and utilising advancements in education technologies.

About You
Candidates will be determined to be suitable for Level A or Level B positions depending on their relevant experience. The successful candidate for a lecturer position in Computer Science will demonstrate:

As the Associate Lecturer in Computer Science, you will have:
- Satisfactory completion of a four-year tertiary qualification in an area of computing.
- Completion of, or significant progress towards a PhD in an area of computing.
- Experience teaching a range of introductory and intermediate level computing related topics in a tertiary environment.
- Demonstrated evidence of contributing to teaching and the scholarship of teaching at the discipline level, including involvement in curriculum development and teaching methodology.

As the Lecturer in Computer Science, you will have:
- Completion of a PhD in a computing related area.
- Teaching and learning experience at a tertiary level to a high standard in a range of computing areas, at a variety of levels and with varying class sizes.
- A demonstrated understanding of pedagogical frameworks in the delivery of teaching with a deep appreciation of the nexus between teaching and learning, research, and scholarship.
- Evidence of the use of learning and teaching approaches which enhance student success including but not limited to a good understanding of appropriate assessment techniques and student feedback.

These roles will also provide support, academic counselling and professional advice to students concerning their studies, professional development, and career opportunities. In these positions, you will be concurrently engaged in practice as an Optometrist in clinical or community settings and will apply your understanding of the nexus between teaching and learning, research, scholarship, and practice to ensure teaching is in step with contemporary practice.

About You

With your exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, you will maintain strong relationships with a diverse range of staff, students and industry stakeholders. Your natural ability to collaborate and engage with relevant external professional domains, will develop productive partnerships that can provide opportunities to students and promote graduate employability. With your comprehensive knowledge of industry needs, and demonstrated experience in tertiary teaching, you will harness your high-quality written communication skills to contribute to the planning and evaluation of these topics. • As a minimum, satisfactory completion of 4 years tertiary study or equivalent qualification and experience in Optometry for the position of Associate Lecturer.

• Evidence of an independent contribution to the development, delivery and evaluation of innovative teaching and learning strategies both in the classroom and in clinical education, including student assessment.

• Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency as an Optometrist.

• An Optometry qualification which enables registration by the Optometry Board of Australia or allows admission to the Optometry Council of Australia and New Zealand (OCANZ) Competency in Optometry Examination.

• A qualification that enables scheduled medicines endorsement for a registered optometrist in Australia and New Zealand.

• You will also be required to hold and maintain a current membership with Optometry Australia.

About the Role

Join our team as an Associate Nurse Manager – Clinical Lead in our Adult Emergency Department, on an ongoing Full-time basis to work at Monash Medical Centre based at Clayton. The Associate Nurse Manager- Clinical Lead works closely with the Adult Nurse Manager, providing clinical leadership to ensure the provision of safe and effective care and efficient management of the Adult Emergency Department. The role will assist and support staff to manage patient flow within the Emergency Department to optimise timeliness of care, the National Emergency Access Target (NEAT) and achievement of organisational targets. The Associate Nurse Manager- Clinical Lead is responsible for supporting the management of specific portfolios including but not limited to;

Roster and leave management
Support services Co-ordination
Staff performance review and development (Grade 2 Registered Nurses, Enrolled Nurses)
Quality and safety
Emergency management and occupational health and safety
Daily operational performance / support

About Us

The Clayton Adult Emergency Department provides tertiary emergency services for adult patients across Southeast Melbourne and surrounding regional areas. The Department is responsible for over 60,000 emergency department presentations annually. Once fully commissioned, the adult emergency department will have 75 treatment spaces, including six resuscitation cubicles, eight isolation rooms and a 20-bed adult short stay unit.

There is also a purpose-built Mental Health and Other Drugs (MHAOD) hub, which includes six dedicated cubicles, interview, and sensory rooms to provide an optimal environment to assess and manage patients presenting with behavioural health needs. The Adult Emergency department sees presentations requiring tertiary level care for Neurosurgery and Stroke services and also includes a diverse range of specialist support services onsite.

About You

You are dedicated, driven and a leader in Adult Emergency Nursing.

To ensure your success in this role you will bring the following demonstrated skills, experience and knowledge:

Demonstrated leadership and senior nursing experience within and Emergency Department. Associate Nurse Manager experience required.
Post graduate Qualification in Emergency Nursing or Leadership and Management (or working towards) is desirable
AHPRA Registration to practice Independently as a Registered Nurse
The role requires commencement within the next 3 months.

The Associate Lecturer will also be expected to concurrently engage in practice as a Speech Pathologist in a clinical or community setting to support maintenance of contemporary practice.
