As a member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) within the Infrastructure & Assets division, you will report directly to the Director Infrastructure & Assets and work as part of a collaborative team, providing leadership and driving Council’s vision of being a leader in achieving social, environmental, and economic outcomes for our community.
The Manager Infrastructure Delivery is responsible for leading the delivery of Councils $150m annual capital works program, resource planning to support the delivery of Councils future capital program, oversee and manage contracts to achieve agreed outcomes, partnering with the Project Management Office to provide strong project governance and leading an engaged and high performing workforce.
In this role you'll lead, coach, and mentor five people leaders and the broader Infrastructure Delivery department operating across Major Projects & Precincts, Projects & Contracts, Open Space Project Development, Civil Projects, and Subdivision Supervision.
What you’ll be doing:
- Provide oversight of a significant program of capital works
- Understand contract management and the mechanisms available to ensure completion of projects on time and on budget
- Manage risk across a large number of projects and effectively communicate to the Executive Team and Council as key risks arise
- Focus on continuous improvement and leading change in a complex environment demonstrating agility and clarity in the face of ambiguity and competing priorities.
- Make insightful decisions using data, patterns and experiences to translate vision and strategy into outcomes.
- Inspire others by being passionate, values driven and influential in your messaging, bringing the Council vision alive across the team.
- Strengthen and mobilise the talents and capabilities of the workforce within the department to ensure staff to feel empowered and confident in their actions.
- Drive accountability and outcomes across the department and ensure appropriate resource allocation.
- Ensure a healthy, safe and inclusive workplace culture where those in the workplace recognise their personal responsibility for ensuring the physical and psychological safety of others.
- Demonstrate a high standard of practice in the approach to governance, compliance, regulatory requirements, and risk management.
- Demonstrate exceptional written and oral skills and experience in the preparation of timely, clear and concise reports, briefing papers and correspondence.
The skills and experience you’ll bring to the role:
- Substantial experience leading multi-disciplinary teams to deliver projects and programs across a variety of project areas
- Demonstrated experience in inspiring and fostering a positive, collaborative and high performing culture.
- Strong financial, people and project management skills, with experience in managing a multidisciplinary workforce.
- Exceptional communication and engagement skills, with the ability to communicate and connect with diverse audiences and stakeholders.
- Highly developed conceptual, analytical, and strategic skills with a track record in leading change within a complex and diverse organisation.
- Tertiary degree and preferably postgraduate qualifications in a relevant field.
