The Opportunity
Come and discover the opportunity to join our Sales, Marketing and Innovation team in our BlueScope Building Components business as a Project Coordinator. BlueScope Building Components, a division of BlueScope in Australia, manufactures and markets steel building products, solutions and services through its four leading brands: Lysaght, Fielders, Ranbuild and Kiteleys.
In this newly created opportunity, you'll be joining a high performing team of subject matter experts, helping us shape the process for managing the project pipeline of premium, specified building products. Working Monday to Friday, this full-time permanent role offers the flexibility to be located in either Minchinbury, NSW or Mascot, NSW.
What Will You Do?
Reporting into the National Manager, Design Solutions Group, you will be a critical part of the team responsible for coordinating and monitoring the flow of information to add value to our business. As the central point of coordination, your key responsibilities will include:
- Project Coordination: Provide oversight the logistics and delivery aspects of the projects. Coordinate transportation, monitor shipping schedules, and ensure timely delivery of materials and finished products. Work closely with the logistics team to streamline processes and minimise delays.
- Documentation and Reporting: Offer meticulous support in maintaining project documentation throughout its lifecycle. This involves preparing and updating project plans, tracking progress, and documenting any changes. Generate regular reports for stakeholders, providing insights into project status, challenges, and potential solutions.
- Support Internal Sales Teams: Collaborate closely with internal sales teams to lead and support the performance of supply chain and logistics for key specialty products on a national scale. Ensure seamless coordination and communication to meet customer demands and expectations.
- Strategic Costing and Tender Support: Leverage your expertise in quoting projects and cost modelling to contribute to successful tender submissions, continually enhancing your skills in support of our project bids.
- Vendor Collaboration: Effectively collaborate with various vendors and suppliers. This involves ensuring timely communication, negotiating contracts, and maintaining a high standard of product quality and delivery.
- Material Planning Support: Take an active role in material planning activities, including inventory control and procurement. Ensure an uninterrupted supply of materials for project execution by closely collaborating with the procurement team to maintain optimal stock levels.
- Cost Optimisation: Implement strategies to optimise project costs while maintaining quality and efficiency. This includes identifying cost-saving opportunities, negotiating favourable terms with vendors, and ensuring adherence to budget constraints.
More About You
With your experience working in a project support role, you will likely have the following background:
- Proven track record in project management or supply chain, preferably in manufacturing. Knowledge of building and construction, particularly in facades, would be advantageous.
- Have high attention to detail and the ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously with your superior time management skills
- Have excellent communication (written and verbal), strong interpersonal skills with an ability to build relationships with a variety of stakeholders, and a positive attitude
- Analytical and problem-solving skills, including how to prepare and articulate finding
