The Senior Business Analyst’s responsibilities include:

The Cloud Security & DevOps Engineer role is responsible for acting as an AWS platform subject matter expert within the Rest Engineering team.

You will be embedded in all AWS platform related projects to design, implement and support cloud architecture needed to deliver business goals. The Cloud & DevOps Engineer will make sure all platform architecture is designed with DR, BCP and high availability in mind and will own the execution of our annual DR testing schedule.

The Cloud Security & DevOps Engineer will also provide oversight, guidance, and support to other technical teams within Rest, data, and engineering to manage their platforms, CI/CD pipelines and assist in the management and oversight of our chosen vendors with respect to AWS.

Cloud Security Focus:

The Cloud Security & DevOps Engineer will tackle some challenging and diverse security remediation projects. The role involves extensive work in AWS, designing and reviewing complex architectures, and implementing advanced security measures. You will the chance to work on anything from standard AWS services to more unconventional setups.

Experience with cloud services, particularly AWS, and your ability to handle multifaceted security challenges would be invaluable. A significant part of the job also involves responding to dynamic security situations. This includes risk assessments of different architectures and managing responses to security incidents, security vulnerabilities using various tools (CNAAP / SEIM). We will be integrating Cloud Posture Management into our pipeline, so insights on automating responses and maintaining these tools would greatly benefit the team.

Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities

• Develop and standardise the usage of automation to provision and manage cloud resources within the CI/CD pipeline, using AWS CDK, CloudFormation, scripting, or other tools.
• Work alongside Solution Architects and other technical stakeholders to design and architect scalable, reliable, and secure cloud solutions, using native AWS services (S3, ECS, EC2, RDS, Dynamo, etc.).
• Review and enforce practices from our vendor DevOps resources to develop infrastructure as code using tools like AWS CloudFormation or CDK to automate resource provisioning.
• Review our current CI/CD pipelines to automate the deployment and updates to AWS resources. Work with platform teams to define and implement best practices in our CI/CD pipelines for each platform (API and Digital) to define and create reusable components.
• Define and implement security best practices, including IAM roles, policies, permissions to ensure secure access to AWS resources.
• Analyse monitoring data to identify performance bottlenecks.
• Own the BCP and DR capabilities within the AWS domain and work collaboratively with the business and vendors to schedule and conduct annual DR tests for all AWS based infrastructure.
• Investigate and resolve technical issues related to AWS/Azure infrastructure, networking, and applications. Provide technical support to development teams and stakeholders, troubleshooting and resolving issues promptly.

The Senior Associate role will directly assist the Head of Unlisted Valuations and will be responsible for managing valuations and performing oversight activities (such as due diligence and trigger monitoring) for Rest’s A$17 billion in unlisted investments. This is a key role within the Advice Technology team. The Senior Advice Technology Consultant will lead and develop the Advice systems and related processes required to deliver advice online, over the phone and in person effectively and efficiently.  Manage the development and delivery of core technology components (advice related where shared technology components) of the advice operating systems according to regulatory compliance, best practice and in line with business needs. • Defining, implementing and managing the change management and release management processes of Midwinter deliverables.
• Responsible for, in conjunction with the Head of Advice and Retirement Services and Senior Manager, Advice and Retirement Quality, ensuring compliance with ASIC guidelines on AFSL’s providing digital financial product advice (RG 255) and any other regulations to do with the provision of advice through technology and systems.
• Responsible (in conjunction with Head of Advice and Retirement Services and Senior Manager, Advice and Retirement Quality) for ensuring processes are developed and maintained for all technology services and solutions according to best practice frameworks and methodologies.
• Work closely with the Head of Advice Technology and relevant stakeholders to support the formulation and implementation of the digital advice strategy. Make appropriate recommendations in line with Rest’s advice principles and standards as well as IT architecture principles where relevant.
• Work with the relevant stakeholders to review broader Rest technology solutions as presented by projects and any impacts they might have on advice systems; make recommendations as needed to ensure advice systems align with Rest’s overall technology framework, policies, processes and principles.
• In conjunction with the Advice Manager, coach and guide Rest advisers in the use of advice systems to support efficiency and performance goals are achievable, including induction.
• Develop and maintain the relationship with key technology vendors, suppliers and service providers ensuring timely delivery of services including reviewing and making recommendations relating to contracts and proposals.
• Ensure business partnerships are collaborative to address the requirements and alignment to business goals.

Situated in the Business Analysis Practice, the Senior Business Analyst has two main priorities:

• Supporting the Product Owner/Business Owner/Sponsors to ensure that business needs and solutions options are understood
• Ensuring the product/platform/project team have a shared understanding of the requirements, through written and verbal communication.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

• Gathering and documenting requirements: Gather, review, analyse, validate, evaluate, and map business systems, processes and user needs and translate them into requirements/user stories with acceptance criteria
• Managing stakeholders: Engage, inform and negotiate with stakeholders to elicit and validate requirements and prioritise them
• Analysing and modelling: Analyse documents, programs, logic, process flows and specifications.  Model the requirements using a range of techniques such as process mapping, story mapping, user stories and acceptance criteria, business rules
• Managing the requirements lifecycle: Ensure that requirements/user stories are prioritised based on their value, complexity, and feasibility, ensuring that the most critical items are delivered first
• Team communication and collaboration: Work closely with Engineers, Testers, Change Managers Third Party members within the product/platform/project team to ensure everyone understands business requirements to be able to develop a fit-for-purpose solution
• Risk and issue management:  Identify risks and issues and develop effective mitigation/management strategies according to Rest’s risk framework, and communicate risk assessments and plans to the necessary stakeholders.
