Collier and Miller are here to help you source and supply a huge range of specialty and consumer products within the Agricultural, Engineering and industrial sectors. We are currently seeking to hire a qualified and experienced Store Person to join our team in Griffith NSW 2680.
Store Person is responsible for managing and maintaining stock levels, receiving and dispatching goods, and ensuring accurate and efficient stock control within our Retail division. This role plays a key part in supporting daily operations by organizing stock and providing a high level of customer service to both external and internal stake holders.
CORE CAPABILITIES:
Inventory Management:
- Demonstrate proficiency in managing incoming and outgoing stock by verifying quantities, inspecting for quality, and organizing items for delegation to the correct departments
- Regularly check inventory levels, using the company ERP system to record stock changes, flag low stock, and minimize overstock
- Collaborate with procurement to request purchase orders, ensuring stock aligns with forecasted demand
Customer Service:
- Communicate professionally with internal and external stakeholders, providing timely responses to inquiries about product availability, pricing and specifications
- Maintain a helpful, approachable demeanor and work to resolve customer complaints or issues promptly, helping to uphold a positive company image
Order Fulfillment:
- Prepare orders accurately based on picking slips, ensuring item and quantity accuracy, and create backorders where necessary
- Follow company procedures to package and label goods, coordinate with the Dispatch team to dispatch orders, and record dispatch details to maintain smooth order processing
- Manage urgent or high-priority orders, reprioritizing tasks to meet deadlines while still ensuring accuracy and product quality
Problem-Solving:
- Identify and address inventory issues, such as discrepancies between physical and recorded stock counts, investigating potential causes, updating the company ERP system, and implementing corrective measures to avoid recurring issues
- Proactively manage stock issues that could disrupt order fulfillment, such as backordered items or damaged goods
- Suggest improvements to streamline processes, like updating stock layout for easier access or reducing paperwork through digital software
Attention to Detail:
- Ensure all received stock is checked for quality and counted accurately, cross-referencing delivery dockets with purchase orders to verify accuracy
- Accurately receipt all stock movements to update inventory, reflecting any stock in/ out, reducing errors in stock level reporting
Ability to Perform Physical Tasks:
- Capable of lifting, moving, and storing products safely, often involving items up to 20kg or more, and able to maintain physical stamina for standing or moving over extended periods
- Perform manual handling tasks, such as loading/unloading deliveries and restocking shelves, with a strong understanding of when to use equipment like dollies and pallet jacks for heavier items, ensuring safe stock handling, product integrity, and injury prevention
Collaboration:
- Work closely with team members across different departments, including sales, purchasing, and logistics, to ensure coordinated and efficient operations
- Regularly communicate updates on stock issues, backorders, and special requests with team members, actively participating in team meetings to foster a positive, service-oriented environment
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Technical Inventory Skills:
- Proficient in inventory systems and software for tracking stock and generating reports. Familiar with basic computer skills, including the Microsoft Office Suite.
Customer Service:
- Provide accurate information on product availability and specifications to internal and external stakeholders. Skilled in addressing inquiries and resolving complaints professionally
Organizational Skills:
- Exceptionally organized, capable of managing stock logically to reduce search times and enhance order fulfillment efficiency. Able to balance multiple tasks such as restocking, order picking, and customer assistance while maintaining accurate records and completing tasks promptly.
Physical Capacity:
- Physically capable of performing tasks that involve lifting, carrying, and moving items weighing up to 20 kg while adhering to safe manual handling practices to prevent injury. Able to sustain physical tasks for extended periods without compromising productivity or safety.
Salary range is $65,000 - $75,000pa commensurate with experience
