About the business
Sydney Montessori School is a specialist independent school located in the Sutherland Shire, in a wonderful spacious setting close to Gymea station. The school has been operating since 1981, and prides itself on offering an excellent Montessori education from birth to age 12. As a new and growing school, the Sydney Montessori School (SMS) requires energetic and enthusiastic High School teachers for our secondary program. • Create research proposals: Craft proposals grounded in solid statistical and scientific principles in line with our business goals. This includes cost modelling and spearheading the studies' execution, while seamlessly collaborating with external stakeholders such as universities, industrial partners, and customers. 
• Manage active studies: Supervise active research projects, ensuring they progress effectively and align with our investigative objectives. 
• Analytical excellence: Engage in the analysis and synthesis of research results, transforming raw data into actionable insights and coherent findings. 
• Scholarly support: Assist in drafting papers that elucidate research outcomes and white papers that reinforce our perspectives and beliefs. 
• Grant applications: Identify, apply for, and win grants to support our research initiatives. 
• Collaboration: Partner seamlessly with key stakeholders: Dr. Matt, our co-founding vet to ensure that research initiatives align with product development; Data & Analytics to leverage insights and analyse studies; Customer Care for participant recruitment; and Marketing and Partnerships to showcase studies insight which demonstrate Lyka's value. 
• Research synthesis: Keep a keen eye on the latest advancements and studies outside of Lyka. Distil and integrate these findings into tangible insights, aiding in product development and work to underscore the value of a whole food diet in canine health and nutrition.

What will your typical day look like?
We provide quality advice that improves business outcomes for our clients and enables them to achieve their strategic goals. The diversity of work available across the firm ensures the activities of each consultant are interesting and challenging.
The role includes the full range of actuarial responsibilities within insurance including valuation and pricing, capital management and optimisation strategic advice, merger & acquisition due diligence and valuations, actuarial model builds and testing, and optimising data and reporting processes. On a day to day basis, you will support the delivery of client engagements through performing analyses, technical review, preparing reports and presentations, attending client meetings and helping the team stay informed on industry updates.

Deloitte Actuaries is recognised for providing clients with a full range of advisory, consulting and business algorithmic services across insurance (life, general and health), superannuation and investments, banking and public sector. We are growing and this has created opportunities within our team.

You will be developing knowledge and experience as follows:

For our consultants, we typically expect up to 3 years of industry experience.
For our senior consultant roles and above, we typically expect 3+ years of industry experience.
Understanding of actuarial methodologies, financial modelling and sector regulations.
Hands-on experience with modelling tools e.g. Prophet, SQL, R etc
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.


Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
Time management skills - prioritisation of work without supervision.
Adaptable and responsive to a continuously changing environment.
Willingness and desire to work on client projects across multiple sectors as needed.

The minimum salary requirement for this role is $130,000.00 inclusive of the minimum superannuation contribution
