Servicing tier 1 supermarkets such as Coles, Woolworths, and Aldi, they boast state-of-the-art technology and processing facilities whilst remaining steadfast in their principles of sustainability and culture. As a result of a recent vacancy, this business is looking for an experienced, people-focused, and hands-on Logistics Group Leader to take charge of a large site in north regional Victoria.
Your new role
Reporting directly to the General Manager of Plant Operations and overseeing a team of up to 25, you'll be responsible for management of all end-to-end logistics operations whilst driving a continued approach to optimising operational efficiencies across the organisation's broader supply chain. Additionally, you'll be:
Overseeing all warehouse operations including despatch, inventory management processes, and fleet maintenance
Working closely with Distribution, Customer Service, Production, and Planning departments
Monitoring performance of all warehouse and production activity including truck departures, data accuracy, and overall operational achievements
Providing leadership in all inventory processes
Creating a harmonious, safety-conscious and culture-focused environment within the warehouse
Working with the Finance team to identify avenues for operational improvements to streamline warehouse functions
Identifying and delivering strategies to achieve cost savings within the warehouse
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will be a proven logistics leader with a demonstrated track record of improving operational efficiencies across a complex manufacturing-based operation. Additionally, you'll also require:
Exceptional communication skills with a proven track record of excellent team management and leadership skills
Proven experience in leading a large operation across the broader logistics function
FMCG cold chain experience is essential
Ability to remain agile and flexible whilst undergoing any changes in the warehouse and the wider production environment
Experience in delivering operational improvements
Sound knowledge of budget and expense management with an understanding of financial and accounting practices
Proven experience in collaborating cross-functionally to deliver broader business objectives
