Your new role Our Hays Sydney CBD office is seeking an internal Payroll Accountant to join the team. It is a full-time permanent role commencing immediately. This role focuses on executing payroll functions and reporting functions, ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with Hays processes and government regulations. This role reports to our Director of Payroll Operations. Key responsibilities
Payroll Processing: Accurately process and manage the payroll, including calculating wages, salaries, overtime, and bonuses.
Reporting: Prepare and distribute payroll reports to management and assist with budgeting and financial planning.
Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations, including the accurate calculation and submission of payroll taxes.
New Hire and Termination: Handle payroll-related tasks for new hires, including setting up payroll accounts, and processing payroll company changes for terminations and departures.
Data Accuracy: Ensure the accuracy of employee data, including personal information, tax withholding details, and benefit selections.
Conduct regular audits of payroll records
Complete general ledger reconciliations.
Produce payroll related journals
Administer all Sharesave accounts and complete Sharesave reconciliations and payments
Prepare various reports including headcount, payroll analysis and payroll
What you'll need to succeed
Tertiary qualifications in Accounting
Advanced Excel skills
High attention to detail
Time management skills
Excellent communication skills - written and verbal
Ability to build and maintain working relationships at all levels
Results-driven and solution-based thinking
Ability to work under pressure, be proactive and flexible
