Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled Management Accountant to enhance our financial management team. This role is pivotal in supporting strategic decision-making and maintaining our financial health through detailed analysis and effective policy formulation.
Location: Rowville, VIC
Key Responsibilities:
• Collaborate in the development and refinement of budgetary and accounting policies to support company objectives.
• Prepare comprehensive financial statements for review by the board of directors, management, shareholders, and regulatory bodies, ensuring accuracy and compliance with statutory requirements.
• Lead financial investigations, generate detailed reports, and provide expert advice on transactions such as acquisitions, mergers, capital funding, potential fraud, insolvency issues, and taxation.
• Scrutinize operating costs and analyze income and expenditure to identify financial efficiencies and areas for improvement.
• Ensure that all financial reporting meets the rigorous standards required by law and corporate policy, confirming the reliability of financial documents.
• Mentor and support junior financial staff, promoting a culture of high performance, continuous learning, and development within the finance department.
• Leverage advanced financial software and technology to enhance data analysis capabilities, streamline accounting processes, and improve accuracy in financial reporting.
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction and operational improvements, championing initiatives that enhance profitability without compromising quality or service.
• Provide financial oversight and management for major projects, including capital expenditure analysis and ROI assessments to guide executive decision-making.
Additional Responsibilities:
• Assist in strategic planning and risk management assessments.
• Enhance financial systems and processes to improve forecasting accuracy and reporting capabilities.
• Participate in sustainability initiatives by aligning financial strategies with environmentally conscious business practices.
Hours of Work: This is a full-time position, typically involving 38 hours per week.
Salary: We offer a competitive salary range of $70,000-$80,000 plus superannuation per annum, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Requirements:
• Applicants must possess at least 2 years of professional experience in a similar role.
• A bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
