Salary: $79,040 plus 11.5% superannuation
Our client, BGS Hydraulics Pty Ltd, is the largest privately owned hydraulic company in Western Sydney. Specializing in prompt hydraulic breakdown services, BGS Hydraulics plays a key role in major projects such as the Sydney Metro Train Line, the Western Sydney Airport, and the M5 Motorway upgrade. With two locations in Castlereagh and Kemps Creek, the company provides 24/7 hydraulic repair and specialized attachment fit-out services to account customers across Sydney and the East Coast of Australia.
The client is seeking a skilled Fitter and the successful candidate will be responsible for the repair, maintenance, and installation of hydraulic systems, as well as general fitting and machining tasks. You will also play a crucial role in interpreting hydraulic schematics and maintaining a high standard of quality and productivity. As part of the 24/7 field service team, you’ll respond to breakdowns and ensure customer satisfaction with tailored hydraulic solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform repairs, maintenance, and installation of hydraulic systems and components, both in the field and workshop
• Fit and assemble metal parts, tools, and sub-assemblies according to technical specifications
• Interpret hydraulic schematics and bill of materials for a wide range of products and solutions
• Diagnose and troubleshoot hydraulic breakdowns, providing efficient and reliable solutions
• Hydraulic Repairs &Specialized Attachment Fit Outs.
• Fit Custom-Made Attachments to Suit application, All Electrical & Hydraulic Components
• Cut, thread, bend, and install hydraulic and pneumatic pipes and lines
• Ensure the quality, accuracy, and safety of all work, maintaining high standards of productivity
• Assist in the reprogramming, testing, and commissioning of custom-made hydraulic systems
• Provide on-call breakdown service as part of the 24/7 support team for customers across the East Coast
• Maintain a strong commitment to workplace health and safety practices
• Collaborate effectively with team members to deliver seamless service
Key Requirements:
• AQF Certificate II or III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade (Fitter and Turner) or at least 1 year of relevant experience
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems and components, with hands-on experience in general fitting and machining
• Ability to read and interpret hydraulic schematics and bill of materials
• Experience in fitting and assembling metal parts, as well as cutting, threading, bending, and installing hydraulic/pneumatic pipes
• High attention to detail, with the ability to maintain quality and productivity standards
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure in breakdown situations
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Flexibility to respond to field service calls, including after-hours breakdowns
• Strong understanding of OH&S practices and a commitment to workplace safety
• Australian driver's licence (Required)
