At Moderna’s Melbourne facility, the Maintenance Planner and Scheduler is vital in ensuring the smooth operation and reliability of our manufacturing processes. Reporting to the Plant Engineering Manager, this role is at the forefront of planning, scheduling, and executing maintenance activities. By working closely with various teams, you will optimize workflows, minimize downtime, and uphold Moderna’s commitment to safety, compliance, and efficiency.

Here’s What You’ll Do:

Within 3 Months, You Will…

• Acclimate to Moderna’s processes and policies, familiarizing yourself with the facility’s equipment and maintenance needs.

• Begin developing and managing the maintenance schedule, ensuring all resources are effectively allocated.

Within 6 Months, You Will…

• Take full control of maintenance planning, including direct management of external contractors, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.

• Utilize CMMS to its full potential, tracking, and reporting maintenance activities, contributing to compliance and operational excellence.

Within 12 Months, You Will…

• Lead significant maintenance initiatives such as shutdowns and outages, demonstrating effective planning and resource allocation.

• Analyze maintenance data to identify improvement areas, developing strategies to enhance equipment reliability and performance.

• Participate actively in maintenance strategy development, including preventive and predictive maintenance programs, setting new benchmarks in maintenance excellence.

Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.

• Relevant certification in maintenance planning and scheduling, such as CMRP or similar, is advantageous.

• 5+ years of experience in maintenance planning and scheduling within a manufacturing or industrial environment. Experience in a regulated (cGMP preferred) environment is highly desirable.

• Proficiency in using CMMS (ideally Maximo) and other maintenance planning tools.

• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) are required. Ability to work collaboratively across functions and lead without direct authority.

• Technical understanding of maintenance work processes and the ability to read and interpret technical documentation and drawings.

• Knowledge of reliability-centered maintenance and experience in implementing preventive and predictive maintenance programs.

• Familiarity with standard maintenance practices, safety standards, and environmental regulations.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) is required.

• Demonstrated ability to analyze data, identify issues, and develop solutions to enhance maintenance operations and equipment reliability.

In our state-of-the-art GMP Manufacturing facility in Melbourne, Australia, the Process Technician, Mechanical, plays a crucial role. Reporting to the Plant Engineering Manager, this position is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of both GMP and non-GMP process and support equipment. As the first responder to equipment issues, the Process Technician ensures resolution through direct action or coordination with service providers, embodying Moderna's dedication to operational excellence and quality.

Here’s What You’ll Do:

Within 3 Months, You Will…

• Begin performing preventive and corrective maintenance on all process equipment, learning the systems and establishing protocols for emergency work.

• Engage in troubleshooting and developing remediation activities, becoming familiar with the equipment and systems critical to our manufacturing process.

Within 6 Months, You Will…

• Take on a leadership role in maintenance activities, ensuring the efficacy and safety of our manufacturing operations.

• Become a subject matter expert in the operation and maintenance of key manufacturing and support systems.

Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table:

• Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics), preferred.  

• Trade qualification – Certificate 3, preferred.

• 3 to 5 years relevant experience working in a regulated (cGMP preferred) environment. Experience working in sterile manufacturing is highly desirable.

• Hands on experience in the pharmaceutical industry.

• Understanding of automated process equipment (PLC controls) for simple troubleshooting is required.

• Understanding and experience with pneumatic and vacuum systems.

• Understanding of process equipment (pumps, valves, heat exchangers, mixing vessels etc)

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) are required.  Expected to be able to present own work to peers and cross-functional managers and influence leadership decisions.  Technical writing skills required.

• Must have a customer service mindset. Ability to manage competing priorities is critical.

• Must be able use his/her technical background to investigate issues using a structured problem solving approach to determine true root cause and develop effective corrective and preventative actions.  Must be able to find true root cause and path forward for complex problems. 

• Ability to identify and drive improvements to preventative maintenance tasks and strategy.

• Demonstrated ability to learn new equipment/systems.

• Familiarity with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint are required.

• Ability to interact well with other groups and must be able to take ownership of and follow through on assignments.  Must be able to drive results on multiple complex assignments simultaneously with minimal required direction from his/her supervisor.       

• Ability to represent Moderna’s interests, objectives and policies in a professional and responsible manner.

We are looking for a Repairs Service Technician based in Regional Victoria – Bendigo. This is a permanent role and reports to the Regional Victoria Area Manager.

You will work closely with other Service Technicians, Mechanical Fitters, Installers, Adjusters, Trade Assistants, Field Engineers, and Service Coordinators.

Key Responsibilities for You

• Performs service, repairs, and maintenance work in accordance with relevant job procedures, technical articles, and operations manuals.

• Identify process improvement opportunities and help facilitate continuous improvement to satisfy the customers.

• Provide electrical and mechanical training to apprentices and sub-contractors.

What You Will Need to Be Successful

• Have Electrical qualifications as relevant to the role.

• Minimum two (2) to five (5) years’ experience within the Lift Industry.

• Extensive electrical and mechanical knowledge across large equipment and the ability to perform knowledge transfer on information and skills through training.

• Has the ability to perform knowledge transfer on information and skills through training.

• Demonstrated fault-finding and problem-solving skills.

• Strong English language skills, both verbal and written

• Intermediate knowledge and experience using technology, including mobile communications, applications, and other computer-based systems (Word, Excel, Email, Internet).

• Highly organized, structured, and able to handle multiple tasks and competing priorities.

• Attention to detail and results-driven.
