Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated full time Electrical Maintenance Technician to join our team. As an Electrical Maintenance Technician at BE Switchcraft, you will have a unique opportunity to apply your expertise in electrical engineering, copper bar fabrication, international switchboard standards to contribute to our specialized manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Your primary responsibilities will include:
• Prepare and interpret electrical installation drawings, plans, and single-line diagrams using Autocad and Solidworks.
• Assist Electrical Engineers and Engineering Technologists in the design and layout of custom switchboards, focusing on substations, switchgear, and motor control systems.
• Conduct tests of electrical systems, collect data, perform complex calculations, graph results, and prepare charts and tabulations.
• Interpret switchboard single-line diagrams and schematic drawings for assembly and installation.
• Comply with and actively contribute to the success of the Quality Management System.
• Adhere to all relevant statutory requirements, including legislation, codes of conduct, and international and domestic standards.
• Estimate material costs and quantities, ensuring alignment with project budgets.
• Assemble components into custom switchboards and cabinets, distinct from general electrical installations.
• Manufacture and install copper bus bars, focusing on compliance and quality.
• Conduct electrical testing, distinct from general wiring and connections, to ensure compliance with specifications. Lead a team of Manufacturing Assistants, ensuring adherence to quality and international standards.
• Install electrical switchgear and control assemblies in accordance with design specifications

Qualifications and Skills:
To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:
• Diploma or higher qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or at least 5 years of relevant work experience
• Expertise in copper bar fabrication techniques.
• Proficiency in Autocad and Solidworks for switchboard design.
• In-depth knowledge of the International Switchboard Standard.

38 Hours Per Week $36.25 per hour + Super
