IKAD Engineering is a locally owned engineering firm specializing in the marine, mining, mineral processing and oil & gas industries. We are looking for a couple of experienced Boilermaker/Welders to join our team on a permanent full time basis.
The Role
This role requires a commitment to working as part of a team, adaptablity to a changing environment, the ability to work effectively with minimal supervision and flexibility to work potential overtime hours when required. General duties for this role include but are not limited to:
Reading and interpreting drawings or taking verbal instructions to mark out, cut, weld and assemble steel;
Perform welding in accordance with approved weld procedures and codes;
Interpret welding symbols to ensure correct welding techniques;
Carry out basic maintenance of welding machine and equipment to keep a clean and safe work area; and
Follow all workshop and site safety requirements.
The successful candidates must have previous workshop experience and be able to demonstrate the following essential personal attributes and skills:
Sound knowledge all aspects of fabrication, including structural, plate work & piping with carbon steel & exotic materials.
FCAW/GTAW welding experience.
Cert III Heavy Fabrication.
2+ years’ post trade experience.
Physically fit & enthusiastic.
Ensuring all activities are completed in a safe and efficient manner.
Identify and report potential safety hazards and take appropriate actions.
A strong problem solving ability.

Great annual salary of $74,000-$80,000.
