Your new role As the Managing Principal Lawyer, you will take on a vital leadership role in providing expert legal guidance for infrastructure projects. Your primary responsibility will be to offer legal and commercial advice, ensuring that all legal facets are effectively managed. Acting as a key advisor to senior decision-makers, you will engage with cross-functional teams, including internal client teams, external advisors, and the broader commercial and legal division. The role requires a strategic thinker who can manage complex legal issues while supporting cross-departmental initiatives and upholding high ethical standards. Key Responsibilities:

Deliver high-quality, pragmatic legal advice across diverse legal areas, from project development to regulatory issues.
Draft essential legal documents, briefs, and ad hoc advice for internal and government stakeholders.
Manage claims and disputes and oversee daily legal activities for assigned projects.
Lead, mentor, and guide legal team members, ensuring cohesive team performance and growth.
Collaborate with external advisors and internal teams to ensure consistency and support objectives.

What you'll need to succeed Your expertise in legal management within infrastructure or government projects will be essential to succeed in this role. You will bring a track record of high-level advisory experience in legal matters related to construction, contract law, and complex commercial arrangements. Key Qualifications and Skills:

Strong background in providing senior-level legal advice, particularly in construction or infrastructure.
Expertise in managing diverse and complex legal areas, including construction law, commercial arrangements, and compliance.
5+ years PAE and Admission as a legal practitioner (or eligibility) to the Supreme Court of Victoria, with an active (or eligible) practising certificate.
High-level critical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and experience managing people in a collaborative environment.
Proficiency in stakeholder engagement and communication, with an ability to influence and negotiate with senior decision-makers.
