HOUSEKEEPING SUPERVISOR
Hamilton Island, located in the Whitsundays, Queensland is seeking a Housekeeping Supervisors to join our busy Housekeeping team on a full-time permanent basis.

The Role
Assist the Executive Housekeeper in ensuring high standards of organisation and presentation of guest rooms, outdoor areas, public and
service areas. Provide direction to all housekeeping employees through effective communication to ensure standards are maintained. Liaise
with Front Office and Maintenance to ensure rooms are complete for all guests and ensure ongoing maintenance programs are effective.

Responsibilities
• Inspect guest rooms to ensure that standards of cleanliness and guest comfort are maintained in accordance with the SOE’s
• Plan, organise and keep an accurate record by room and area of all deep cleaning carried out to ensure maximum cleanliness and logical
work patterns as required
• Ensure the efficient use of all linen within the resort taking inventory on a regular basis and investigating stock losses
• Responsible for the handling of guest laundry and lost property in accordance with Resort Policy
• Liaise with and delegate tasks to Front Desk, Concierge/Porters and Maintenance to organise readiness of rooms with particular attention
to guest’s special requirements and VIP rooms
• Ensure all workplace health and safety regulations are adhered to by staff at all times
• Answer all correspondence and enquiries received during the working week within 24 hours of receipt; maintain good public relations
with customers
• Ensure rosters are checked and amended daily if needed to allow efficient use of manpower
• Report any maintenance or damage promptly to Maintenance, vehicles must be clean and maintained
• Promptly answer the main housekeeping office telephone in a positive and friendly manner, passing on all requests to the relevant
Housekeeping staff concerned
• Record and store lost property according to the correct procedures as set by the Security & Safety Manager and Executive Housekeeper
• Accurately input all applicable data to the front office system immediately to eliminate delays
• Liaise with Front Office and department supervisors in regards to room status and special requests to ensure a high level of guest
satisfaction at all times
• Accurately prepare and process necessary forms to enable the efficient work flow of the housekeeping department
• Review and adjust department procedures where necessary to achieve maximum efficiency
• Assist in maintaining effective channels of communication by ensuring all memo's are circulated to staff and notice boards are updated
• Respond to all guests enquires, requests and complaints in a prompt and friendly manner, taking positive action to ensure a maximum
level of guest satisfaction at all times. Practice positive problem solving in all aspects of customer service

Skills
• Excellent organizational skills with a high attention to detail
• Exceptional personal presentation, communication and interpersonal skills
• Have a positive and helpful attitude
• Team player
• Physically fit and able to carry a 10kg back-mounted vacuum cleaner
• Reliable and flexible to work within rotating roster

Hourly rate $28.8711 per hour as per Hospitality Industry General Award
Rotating roster of 76 hours per fortnight. Hours of work will be between 8.00am to 4pm, Monday to Sunday.
Positions commmence on 5 November 2024
