Universal Biosensors (UBI) is a world leading ASX-listed Australian company (ASX:UBI) which develops, manufactures and sells biosensors for use in various industries globally. Our biosensor technology has been used in more than 10 billion measurements for blood glucose monitoring and blood coagulation in diabetes and coagulation patients worldwide. In recent years, we have pivoted our technology into the wine industry with the global launch of SENTIA™ in early 2021 and veterinary industry with PETRACKR™ in mid-2023. The next-gen portable coagulation analyzer, Xprecia Prime, has also received FDA clearance in early 2024. Our vision remains in developing new applications with our technology for human health, food and agricultural needs.
What you will do
UBI is seeking a highly motivated, enthusiastic and driven individual to join our team at our Corporate HQ in Rowville (Victoria). This is a key contributing role within the Finance team, acting as 2IC to the Finance Manager when required.
As the Senior Accountant, you are part of the team responsible for maintaining effective and efficient daily business processing activities, including reconciliations within the ERP system.
Who you are
We are looking for a CA/CPA-qualified team player with a minimum 5 years’ industry experience within ASX-listed environment. Your career would have also started out within professional practices (for at least 3 years) before entering industry.
With standard responsibilities for general ledger reconciliations and period-end close reporting (inc consolidation), this role will also be involved in other tasks such as:
- Fixed Asset management
- Payroll, inc. payroll tax reporting/filing
- Inventory/Stock management and analysis
- Statutory/External Financial Reporting
- Liaise with Dept Heads to prepare Budget/Forecast, up to commentaries for Senior Management
- Participate and/or contribute to adhoc improvement projects as directed
Without needing to be prescriptive, the ideal candidate for this role will already 'think' like a Finance Manager and owns the end-to-end financial operation for the business with a hands-on approach to business partnering!
You are a self-starter with the ability to work autonomously and methodically – bringing knowledge and skills such as:-
- Strong working knowledge of general accounting standards
- Able to assist in leading junior members of Finance team as genuine 2IC to Finance Manager
- Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills
- Hands-on experience with accounting software (Microsoft Dynamics Business Central preferred, but not essential)
- Ability to maintain high level of accuracy in preparing financial information
