Childcare Centre Group Leader (Norlane VIC)
Finnish Early Childhood Education (Australia) Pty Ltd is an education group providing childcare services with a blend of Finnish and Australian early childhood education concepts. Finnish Early Childhood Education (Norlane) Pty Ltd, a subsidiary of Finnish Early Childhood Education (Australia) Pty Ltd, has developed ILO Norlane Early Education Centre located in Norlane VIC. We are now looking for a childcare centre group leader (Level 4.3 of Children’s Services Award 2010) to provide care and supervision to children in this centre.
This is a full-time position (38 hours per week) based in Norlane with the following requirements. The salary is $65,000 - $75,000 plus superannuation commensurate with experience.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare all teaching necessities, such as teaching materials, tools, fun games and toys, for educational and recreational activities to support education programs and activities for children.
• Participate in all activities with the children, including teaching, reading and playing, and develop close relationships with them.
• Execute designated activities with the children and make sure they are safe and engaged, especially during games, activities and exercises.
• Supervise, monitor and nurture the manner and behaviour of children, including guiding their social development.
• Supervise the hygiene of children.
• Demonstrate and provide guidance to develop a sense of social norms for children.
• Ensure daily routine is implemented in accordance with learning and course plans, including supervising the daily routine of the children.
• Create programs to teach Chinese characters and language to children.
• Communicate with children in English and Chinese.
• Ensure the room environment is clean.
• Ensure the centre's operation complies with the National Quality Framework across all related areas.

Position criteria
• Minimum 4 years of overall experience working in childcare centres in the role of educator in which 3 years in the position of group leader are required.
• Customer service focused: committed to providing exceptional customer service across all channels – written, phone and face-to-face.
• Communication: the ability to communicate clearly and concisely, varying communication styles depending upon the audience.
• Attention to detail: excellent attention to detail and written skills when communicating with others, both internally and externally.
• Teamwork: willingness to assist and support others as required and get on with team members.
• Time management/organisation: accomplish objectives effectively within the time frame given and carry out administrative duties within a portfolio in an efficient and timely manner.
• Language skills: fluent in Asian or European Language and able to communicate effectively, both written and oral, will be highly regarded.
• Specific knowledge and skills: Experience in utilising painting, music and artworks for children will be highly regarded.
Qualifications
• Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care or equivalent or higher
• Approved First Aid, CPR, and Anaphylaxis and Asthma Certification
• Working with Children Check
