Cabinetmaker
Salary $75,000 to $77,000 per annum
Cabinet Solutions is a cabinet design business centrally located in Dandenong South, to offer fully custom kitchen, entertainment,
and built-in cabinetry for homeowners, architects and designers, builders, contractors, and
developers in and around the VIC area.
We are seeking a skilled cabinetmaker to join our team. This is a hands on role that requires excellent woodworking skills, attention to detail and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Main Duties:
• Study plans, specifications or drawings of articles to be made, or prepare specifications
• Mark outlines or dimensions of parts on wood
• Assembling cabinets and furniture from shaped components
• Operate woodworking machines, such as power saws, jointers, mortisers and shapers, and use hand tools to cut, shape and form parts and components
• Trim joints and fit parts and subassemblies together to form complete unit using glue and clamps and reinforce joints using nails, screws or other fasteners
• Sand wooden surfaces and apply veneer, stain or polish to finished product
• Repair or restyle wooden furniture, fixtures and related products
• May estimate amount, type and cost of materials required.
• Refining or enhancing existing furniture by adding intricate details
Qualifications required:
• Cabinetmaking or building trade qualification
• 2 years experience in cabinetmaking industry
• Ability to use all tools & equipment relevant to the cabinetmaking trade
• Strong knowledge of woodworking techniques, materials and tools.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting plans
• Excellent manual dexterity and attention to detail
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Positive can do attitude
• Flexibility - sometimes plans change
• Adaptability
• Leadership skills an advantage
