Our client, High End Painting and Decorating is looking for a skilled Painting Trades Worker to join their team full-time.
Job Summary:
The role will involve applying paint, wallpaper, and additional finishes to both interior and exterior surfaces of buildings and other designated areas; utilising pre-coating agents; filling and levelling materials; mixing and matching colours and textures; and reading blueprints, drawings, technical specifications, and material data sheets.
The annual salary is $70 to $80,000 per annum.
The Responsibilities:
• Apply paint, stain, varnish, and other finishes to various structures using brushes, spray guns, or rollers.
• Prepare surfaces by applying primers or sealers, filling cracks and holes, and removing old finishes.
• Calculate material requirements and costs based on measurements and work orders.
• Protect surfaces with drop cloths or masking tape, and clean up the job site after work.
• Mix and match paint colours, and polish final coats to specified finishes.
• Erect scaffolding or set up ladders for working at heights.
• Read work orders or instructions to determine requirements, and remove fixtures before painting.
• Use special finishing techniques and waterproof buildings as needed.
• Maintain records, select and purchase tools and finishes, and ensure a clean work environment.
Qualifications/Experience:
• Minimum of three (3) years’ local experience in a similar setting.
• At least Certificate III in Painting and Decorating.
