Responsibilities include:
· Analysing blueprints, drawings, and specifications to ascertain project requirements
· Preparing metal stock by selecting, cleaning, and treating it accordingly
· Utilising hand tools, flame cutting torches, and metal cutting machines to cut marked-out metal sections and shapes
· Employing hand and machine tools, as well as heating and hammering techniques, to shape and bend metal sections and pipes
· Ensuring precise alignment of parts using hand tools and measuring instruments
· Joining metal sections through various welding techniques, bolting, and riveting methods
· Inspecting welds for bead width, penetration depth, and overall precision
· Finalising product finishing processes through cleaning, polishing, filing, and immersion in acidic solutions
· Refining welds by employing filing, chiseling, and grinding techniques to achieve smooth surfaces
· Performing routine maintenance on equipment and machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety standards are upheld
· Conducting pressure tests on boilers, tanks, and other vessels to ensure structural integrity and safety compliance
Qualifications:
· Must have more than five (5) years of experience in a similar setting
· Must possess a relevant Trade Certificate
· No second language required
Salary: $98,000 plus per annum
