This independent state government agency provides state-wide services to conduct assessments which assist the judiciary with decision-making in cases before court. A Psychologist position has been newly created to overlook clinical assessments for the Children's court.
Your new role
Reporting to the Director of the Children's Court Clinic, this role will be responsible for the provision of independent clinical assessments in the family division. Further, you will be tasked with:
Interviewing children, children, adolescents and parents dealing with various clinical or forensic issues.
Assessing risks and providing post-treatment referral and treatment plans that will be held up in court.
Appear as an expert witness in court and create clinical assessment reports.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be an experienced forensic and clinical environment with a proven track record working in high-sensitivity environments, supported by:
A postgraduate qualification or professional experience as a psychologist.
Experience providing advice on issues and working with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate the resolution of complex/ sensitive matters.
Knowledge of Child Protection, Family Violence, or Youth Justice in Victoria would be advantageous.
