Duties and Responsibilities:
*Engage in planning, preparation and performance of all daily Pooja
*Ensure deity attire, garlands, fruits, and any other items required for the Pooja are available before the Pooja begins
*Ensure that all the major Poojas, Abishekams and Festivals commence and finish at the scheduled times
*Ensure that the interior of all the sanctums, deities and the temple are always kept clean
*Ensure that the clothes used to dress the deities are washed regularly
*Ensure that the accommodation, furniture, fittings, and appliances provided for the priest are maintained in good condition
*Be able to perform marriage and special religious services
*With the prior approval from the Committee may undertake private religious ceremonies for the Hindu community members
*Preside over house-warming ceremonies
*Undertake astrological readings for auspicious occasions for community members, when requested
*Participate in meetings/conferences that will promote Hindu culture and tradition
*Make sure each devotee leaves the temple happy, content and spiritually fulfilled
Qualifications and Experience:
Have been 'ordained' or have ‘professed to a religious life’ as a Minister of Religion (or under an equivalent accreditation process within a religion); and
Possess the minimum qualifications equivalent to a relevant Australian Qualification Framework (AQF) bachelor degree, or
Have undertaken at least five years of relevant structured training or instruction. Experience does not substitute for this requirement.
