Position Vacant: Trainee CAD Operator/Laser Estimator – Comprehensive Training Provided
Location: Meadowbrook Facility in Logan, Brisbane QLD
Employment Type: Full-time, 42 hours per week
• Hours: 7:30am-4:30pm Monday-Friday (Early knockoff Fridays)
Salary: $25-$35 per hour
Express Metal Products is seeking a motivated individual to join our team assisting with the preparation of information for laser cutting at our Meadowbrook facility. This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in pursuing a technical drafting career in the Australian manufacturing industry.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist with drafting duties and estimating processes, including the review and development of 2D and 3D drawings in AutoCad, Inventor, Boost, and our ERP
• Help our customers find engineering solutions for their projects and assist preparing these solutions for laser cutting and CNC folding
• Collaborate with experienced draftspersons and estimators to develop valuable technical skills and industry knowledge whilst also collaborating with the designers of some of Australia’s premier manufacturers
Key Requirements:
• Sound work ethic and a strong desire to develop a career in technical/engineering drafting
• Effective time management skills – the ability to prioritise tasks
• Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work
• Previous experience in any industry is beneficial
• Experience working with technical drawings at school or in a hobby capacity will be greatly beneficial
