Reporting to the Financial Controller the role will primarily focus on the monthly and annual financial accounting for the Group and subsidiaries combined with the day-to-day activities of the finance function.
Key responsibilities of the Senior Group Accountant:
Assistance with the Group's Half Year and Full Year statutory reporting
Provide technical oversight and mentoring to Group Financial Accountants
Support the Financial Controller in the consolidation and standardisation of financial control activities to drive efficiency
Provide leadership to the Group's month-end close process including reviewing the Group's monthly P&L and balance sheet for accuracy and completeness
Work with other Finance areas and other departments to ensure the month end process is completed accurately and in line with the Group's timetable
Challenge the business in relation to month-end adjustments ensuring General Ledger integrity is maintained
As a Senior Group Accountant we are looking for the following technical and soft skills:
CPA / CA qualified (or international equivalent)
Strong technical accounting experience within a financial control function
Banking/Financial Services industry background
Leadership experience, mentoring and development of others
Understanding of control frameworks
Superior written and verbal communication skills and building relationships
Continuous improvement mindset
