Located in Two Wells, South Australia, our menu features a range of popular items including Onion Bhaji, Butter Chicken, Chicken Korma, Lamb Korma, Beef Vindaloo, Naan Bread, Garlic Naan, and a variety of other exotic Indian dishes. As the first Indian ethnic cuisine in Two Wells also offering takeaway services, we provide our customers with the convenience of enjoying our flavourful dishes at home, along with the option to dine in or pick up at your leisure—all at competitive prices.
ABOUT THE POSITION
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Cook to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of various cooking techniques, a strong knowledge of Punjabi ethnic dishes and ingredients, and a commitment to producing high-quality dishes. As a Cook at Love for Spices, you will play a pivotal role in creating an exceptional dining experience for our guests by preparing and presenting delicious, well-crafted meals.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Inspecting ingredients to guarantee top-quality standards.
Controlling the temperature settings of ovens, grills, and other cooking equipment.
Preparing and cooking Punjabi ethnic specific dishes using traditional regional methods.
Adding seasonings to dishes during the cooking process.
Portioning food and arranging it on plates for service.
Storing ingredients and prepared dishes in temperature-regulated environments.
Preparing meals tailored to meet special dietary needs.
Planning menus and estimating the necessary food quantities.
Training kitchen staff and trainees in specialized cooking techniques and methods specific to certain cultures.
REQUIREMENTS:
Australian Citizens and Permanent Residents are encouraged to apply.
Relevant Culinary certification III or Diploma in Cookery or relevant training is a plus but not required.
1 – 3 Years proven experience as a Punjabi ethnic Cook
Strong knowledge of Punjabi ethnic cooking techniques, ingredients, and kitchen equipment.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
