For the past 20 years, The Rocks has enjoyed the support of its loyal customers and has become a recognized institution for fine food in an exceptional restaurant setting, as well as hosting events and functions. We now seek an experienced Pastry Chef to join our team. The right candidate will have the following:
* Excellent attention to detail.
* Organisational skills to complete all daily tasks.
* Putting systems and procedures into place for an efficient workplace.
* Delegate, teach and supervise junior staff.
* Work well under pressure.
* Team player.
Tasks and responsibilities include, but not limited to:
* Demonstrating knowledge and confidence in production of various artisan pastries, bread, custom made cakes, exquisite deserts, slices, various types of baked cakes, mousses, biscuits, and pies.
* Implementing superior standards of preparation and production within the department demonstrating and utilizing your pastry skills, experience, and knowledge.
* Adopting a ‘hand’s on' approach to work, leading by example and demonstrating initiative and ability to work within a fast-paced environment.
* Demonstrate control in food preparation and managing wastage levels.
* Demonstrating strong knowledge of HACCP and legislative food safety standards
Qualifications and employment experience:
* Certificate III or higher in Patisserie; and
* No less than 2-years relevant employment experience.
